aneil_20 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Does anyone know how to take a ABS sign off, after fixing my transmission the ABS sign came on. I took back to the transmission place, they did not know how to do it. ABS are working fine.
steviej Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 how do you know the ABS is working fine? Did you hit the brakes real hard on a wet road and get brake chatter and vibration in the pedal? Usually when the ABS light is on, the ABS is shut down but the brakes still work fine as conventional brakes. It may be a sensor or wire got dislodged. Take it to the Lexus dealership and have the Tranny shop pick up the ticket for the diagnostic and the repair if necessary. steviej
SKperformance Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 If the abs light is on the abs is not working as it shuts down and turns on the light iw oul guess the tranny shop punded on an axle and broke the sensors which are very sensative to movement besides what year is the car
aneil_20 Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 it is a 94 es300, and when i took it to get dignositic done, dignostic is coming clean how do you know the ABS is working fine? SKperformance Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 94 ES is obd2 if they plugged a module into the diag port it will not show any other problems other than those associated with the engine and its emission related equipment. So if the light is on then you have a problem and a basic hand scanner that reads codes will not show anycode as their are none for the abs, srs, trac or anyother vehicle electronics
