I had my GX in at my dealer this morning for it's 30 day inspection, and found a pile of 2005 GX brochures there. Here are the highlights:

There is one engine offering, a 270 hp version of the 4.7 with VVT:

HP 2005: 270@5400

HP 2004: 235@4800

Torque 2005: 330 lb-ft @3400

Torque 2004: 320 lb-ft @3400

Compression Ratio 2005: 10.0:1

Compression Ratio 2004: 9.6:1

0-60 mph 2005: 8.1 sec

0-60 mph 2004: 8.5 sec

Top Track speed 2005: 112 mph

Top Track Speed 2004: 112 mph

Fuel Consumption 2005: 15/19

Fuel Consumption 2004: 15/19

The New Sport Package option is mainly cosmetic, with the exception of KDSS being standard on it. The cosmetic changes with the sport package are:

smoked bezel headlamp and foglamp trim

17 in alloy wheels with dark graphite finish (these are the same as standard except for color)

Dark Graphite finished roof rack

Dark tinted backup lens

Chrome Exhaust Tip

Black Birds Eye Maple interior wood trim

Dark Graphite finish on center instrument panel

Black finish on upper instrument panel

The only other change I noticed was the Bluetooth integration into the Nav/Mark Levinson system.

The power lumbar support is listed as standard on both drivers and passengers seats.

The color choices for both interior and exterior are identical, with the exception of the Black Birds Eye Maple wood trim being offered on the Sport Package.

In a nut shell, the only change of note is the added horsepower, which makes it four tenths of a second faster in 0-60 times.

Oh, one more thing. The rear seat /rear A/C package is listed as an option, so it sounds like that no charge was just for the final run of 2004's.

While I was there, a car carrier arrived with a few new GX's on it. They were still 2004, 9700G models so the 2005's are not here yet.

I noticed that in this version they list the ride height control as active. In the 03'-04', this was only the case with the load leveling (rear end lift). Does the 05', now have full ride height control like the Range Rovers ????

I always thought it was silly to do just the rear end, I do miss the amount of lift you can control (although I DON'T miss those times when the compressor died and you were left sitting on suspension bumpers).

The specs are not different. However, option packages and prices are different. KDSS is not available in Canada, and neither is the Sports package.

Just so you all realize it, but that link is to the Canadian brochure. The numbers and specs are slightly different because of metric/imperial gal and such. I'm not sure how much else may be different on the GX sold in Canada.
