mwestrich@fuse.net Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 I have a 1990 Lexus LS400. When I put the air conditioning on 65 degrees it works fine but if I put it on 66 degrees it is warm. Could it be a thermostat problem??
VMF Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 no its not a thermostat problem:) its a cirquit problem and might be as well a sensor problem, but AC has nothing to do with thermostat. thermostat is for the engine:)
wwest Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 The IAT sensor, behind the little "window" above your right knee, is open, the climate control ECU therefore thinks the cabin is COLD and needs to be warmed. Setting the temperature to max cool or max hot overrides all sensor inputs.
