Boostoff Posted October 25 Posted October 25 The only code showing is 22 - Engine Temp Sensor. The connector was so brittle it crumbled and then the wire cracked when we were making repairs. Jumpered to another temp sensor outside the engine bay to see if that was the issue, car won't keep running. Only wiring modification was the in-cabin Fuel Pump Relay bypass. All stock other than that. New motor came out of a running and driving car. Timing has been triple checked. Stumped on this one. Will a unplugged Coolant Temp Sensor prohibit the car from running?

Quote es, an unplugged coolant temperature sensor can indeed prevent the car from running. The engine control unit (ECU) relies on the coolant temperature sensor to monitor the engine's temperature and adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing accordingly. Without this information, the ECU may not be able to properly manage the engine, leading to starting issues or the engine not running at all. Given the brittleness of the connector and the cracked wire, it's crucial to repair or replace the wiring and ensure a secure connection to the sensor. If the issue persists, it might be worth having a professional mechanic take a look to ensure there are no other underlying problems. [Copilot AI]
