I seem to recall reading that a plug-in hybrid should NOT be left fully charged for an extended period, but that doesn't make sense, and I can't recall where I read that. Any feedback? Quote Here are some guidelines to help ensure your vehicle remains in good condition during your 18-day absence: Source: Copilot Battery Charge Level: It’s generally recommended not to leave the battery fully charged or completely empty for extended periods. Aim to leave the battery at around 50-60% charge. This helps maintain battery health. Parking Location: If possible, park your car in a cool, dry place, such as a garage. This protects it from the elements and helps maintain the battery’s temperature. Disconnect the Battery: For longer periods, you might consider disconnecting the negative terminal of the 12V battery to prevent any parasitic drain from the car’s electronics.
