GS400 Rookie Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Hi all, Newbie, great informative forum! 1998 GS400 Recently, my car was broken into and they completely destroyed my key cylinder. When I went to the dealer to ask for a replacement, they said that they could only order a new Key cylinder with a new key. They apparently can't order a specific Key cylinder with VIN that would fit my original key. Is there anyway that I could replace my key cylinder and still use my original key? Thanks

TurboGS300 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I didn't think that would work, after thinking about it it just might, hmmm! B)
GS400 Rookie Posted November 12, 2004 Author Posted November 12, 2004 Hi All, For all who ever needed to change out their locks, the answer is yes! As Mehullica said, you can get a locksmith who has the 1998 year kit and up to rekey it for you! Hopefully this helps!
