Hi everyone,

My power back door makes a "roar" at the end of the course when closing.

Does anyone know how to solve this ?

Thanks a lot,

Ricardo

There are a few things you can check:

  1. Obstruction: Make sure there are no obstructions in the door’s path. Sometimes debris or objects can cause unusual noises during closing.

  2. Lubrication: Check the hinges and moving parts of the door for any signs of wear or lack of lubrication. Applying a suitable lubricant can help reduce friction and noise.

  3. Adjustment: The door’s alignment might be slightly off. You can try adjusting the latch or hinges to ensure proper alignment.

  4. Sensor Calibration: If your vehicle has a power back door with sensors (such as a kick sensor), recalibrating them might help. Refer to your vehicle’s manual for instructions on how to calibrate the sensors.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider having a professional mechanic or a Lexus dealership inspect the power back door system. They can diagnose any specific problems and recommend appropriate solutions.

Dave, thanks very much. However, I tend to believe it has to do with pressure at the end of the closing cycle/course, the moment when the speed of the door decreases so that the latches can do their job.
