wwest Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 Thinking about using a Ford electric fuel tank selector valve to turn off hot water flow to the climate control system during the summer months. Anyone tried this or an equivalent.
wwest Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 A/C compressor will run a LOT less often, less load on the engine, better MPG, etc.
Russ White Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 I have done this on other vehicles for the reasons you list. But not as elgantly as using an electrically operated valve. I use hose barbs and a ball valve the same ID as the hose to the heater. I just wait until I am sure not to need the heater again for the summer, open the hood, and turn the valve to off. Russ
