Neil M Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 We bought our 2013 GX with the seat warranty. we were not told it would expire. 10 years later we went to make a claim against and was told the rips on the leather seats had to be less than 1 inch. ours are probably 2 inches. not bad for a 10 year old car, but the claim was rejected. We were also not told about the size of rip they would repair and also there was no replacement. A total rip off
RX400h Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Our Lexus is 18+ years old and up until two years ago, was used every day. The leather seats are still fine. When I bought a used Mazda Miata, 13 years ago, there was a tear in the driver's fabric seat. The owner told me that it was his fault, since he had something in his back pocket that cause the damage. Perhaps your dealership suspected that a person was the cause of the tear and not simply because the seat was worn thin enough to tear.
