cf231
Our RX450h AWD had a receiver hitch installed without any issue by a well established hitch shop. Wiring harness was installed but did not work. Paperwork said the dealership would need to activate it then plug the harness in. Went to dealership and they said there was nothing to activate and would not do it if they could because there was no tow pkg. Spoke to another dealership and their parts Dept said the wiring harness Lexus has would work, $700+ without install cost. E-trailer sells a harness specific to the car without a tow pkg. Chrysler owners manual states no towing without tow package. I’m towing one time only a small U-Haul trailer from Florida to Ohio and would be no where close to the 3500# weight limit. Who’s advise is right in towing or not? What impact is there on the hybrid system and/or transmission if I do tow?
Lexus-CT
Some questions answered here? https://search.brave.com/search?q=can+a+hybrid+car+tow+a+trailer&source=desktop Anyway, the company that installed the thing should complete installation or have refused to start if cannot.
