timmm Posted August 26, 2023 Share Posted August 26, 2023 The electrical system on my 2005 ES330, 220,000 miles, has stopped operating. When I try to start it, nothing but "check engine" light comes on. Everything else is completely dark. Remote starter starts the engine, but then I have to shift into gear using the override button. Volleypop Posted August 26, 2023 Share Posted August 26, 2023 I find it interesting that the car starts with the remote which indicates the engine and that portion of the system is OK. Does anything else work when it's running ? Perhaps the remote starter is causing the issue. There should be a manual override switch to disable it. I would try shutting it off and then starting the car normally. Also maybe something as crazy and simple as changing the battery in your remote FOB ? Otherwise might be something in the ignition switch or steering column like loose connector ?
