  1. Glad to hear Ed. It was the cheapest option to try and you might have a small leak so see how long it lasts. I think some of those refill cans may have a leak sealant in them so worst case might have to add some more in a few months. Regards.
  2. It does sound like the compressor may be overheating and then restarting after it cools down so perhaps it is low on freon. I believe most AC systems are made and refilled the same way, just Google your make and model for instructions. Good luck Ed.
  3. I find it interesting that the car starts with the remote which indicates the engine and that portion of the system is OK. Does anything else work when it's running ? Perhaps the remote starter is causing the issue. There should be a manual override switch to disable it. I would try shutting it off and then starting the car normally. Also maybe something as crazy and simple as changing the battery in your remote FOB ? Otherwise might be something in the ignition switch or steering column like loose connector ? All I have to offer offhand ....not a mechanic 😞
  4. I just posted this on a related thread here but I have the 2004 RX330 also with 150K miles and I live in upstate NY. I got these 18 inch Kumho tires from Amazon after I couldn't find any of the Consumer Reports recommended tires locally : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F31K981/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I also drive ambulance and tend to push the speed limits but these tires have always responded very well in both rain and snow conditions through 2 summers and 1 winter now. I live on a fairly steep hill and have AWD and these reasonably priced tires not only ride very smooth but have never failed to get me home. Being a senior citizen I feel I speak with an abundance of experience but you can also check out the different reviews on these tires at both TireRack.com and Amazon. These tires were cheaper than what I could find at our local Sam's Club or Walmart even after paying for installation at a local Midas shop recommended by Amazon, where the tires were shipped to directly. Good luck !
  5. I live in upstate NY and last June decided to try these 18 inch Kumho Crugen All Season tires after researching on several different sites and I have been very happy with their smooth ride and excellent performance on my 2004 Lexus RX330 through 2 summers and one winter so far. I am an ambulance driver as well and tend to go one the faster ( but barely legal side of the 65MPH limits and these have been very responsive in both rain and snow. I have AWD and a fairly steep hill to get home and these have never failed me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F31K981/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  6. I have had a similar problem with my drivers window after some soda got spilled down inside the window channel and I too have tried silicone grease in the window channels ( from Amazon ) but the one thing that seems to be most effective is regular cleaning using Rain-X Automotive Glass Cleaner ( without Rain-X in the formula -$5 @Walmart ) and a microfiber cloth. This seems to be the best window cleaner out there and works for me every time when used on inside and outside. I do use some Rain-X water-proofing on the outside but the cleaner itself is what seems to fix the squealing problem most. BTW I know this sounds crazy but researched this fix ahead of time and didn't believe it worked until I tried it myself. I suspect that maybe the soda contaminated or stiffened the little bristles lining the window channel but nothing seems to clean or remedy them if that's the root cause.
  7. I have a 2004 Lexus RX330 and my CD was stuck for the past month with this error Code 4 ! I tried resetting the "Ship Mode" seen on other sites by holding the "Disc" and "Seek Up" button at same time ( yeah it's a stretch for one hand ) while you turn the ignition key to ACC then press the "Load" button without any luck. Then I saw the credit card trick and figured it's worth a shot so I stuck one in- you have to aim it down and sort of lift up on the front cover and then keep wiggling it side-to-side until you can work it almost all the way in but don't drop it inside ! Remove the card and turn off the radio and ignition key, then repeat the "Ship Mode" reset in 1st paragraph by holding the "Disc" and "Seek Up" button at same time while you turn the ignition key to ACC . My display showed "Ship Mode" and the pressed Load, then the Eject button until all my CD's were ejected. I then pressed Load button again and inserted a CD and it started playing normally again. It may not work for everyone but it saved my day. Thanks to all the contributors here.
