mcgruder Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Problem arose starting yesterday. Doors will not lock/unlock with key fob or with manual door switch on drivers door arm rest. They might work once but after that, they do not work. I can see the manual door lock button "try" to move but it will not lock/unlock the doors. I thought it might be a voltage battery problem but battery reads 13.5VDC so that is good. When I sit in seat and use the fob or the manual arm rest lock/unlock, I can see that the switch on door tries to move but will not complete the lock/unlock. BTW, it's a 2002 SC430 vehicle. Thanks in advance to anyone that might have any ideas.
RX400h Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 It could be a door lock actuator. I had the same problem with my 2001 Corvette when it was only a few years old.
mcgruder Posted June 26, 2023 Author Posted June 26, 2023 Thanks Dave for the response. I assume that there is an actuator for each door, correct? I'll have to do a little more research and I also assume this assembly is inside the door panel. Thanks again,

mcgruder Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 Thanks again Dave for the info on parts etc.. Much appreciated. After I've done some research today, I've learned that neither door will do the lock/unlock scenario and this problem appeared overnight so I'm looking at something COMMON to both doors, not the drivers or passenger door on a separate basis. My question to anyone is---- what do both doors have in COMMON? I have no idea, but when I approached the vehicle today using the fob, I pushed the unlock on the fob and the doors opened as usual. When I tried the lock/unlock again the second time, it did not respond. It seems to work once and then that is all. I've replaced the fob batteries but the problem persists with the lock/unlock even when I use the manual lock/unlock switch on the armrest. Go Figure! Thanks again for your help Dave. McGruder
Tim Edwards Posted May 11 Posted May 11 This problem just happened to my 02 SC430. What did the fix turn out to be?
Dj98203 Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I have a 2006 SC430. I can’t unlock the doors or open the truck using the key fob. The battery is good the little red light on the fob works. Everything in the car works fine. Door locks lock and unlock using the buttons in the car. The button in the car that opens the truck does not work. Any suggestions?
Dj98203 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I found the problem. The receiver for the key fob is in the rear view mirror. I replaced the mirror and it now works
PVB Scott Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I just had the same thing happen on my 2007 sc430 but it is only one door. The passenger. The driver door works fine. Any suggestions??
