kearnscorp
:D What are the best tire choices for our L 450 97. Love this SUV... do we have to buy Micheliens?
gary442
I have a new set of Dunlops but frankly, Michelin is the best riding, handling and very quiet....if you can handle the cost buy the Michlins......

dougjohn
Best choices? Depends on what you want to do with your LX 450. If you're just driving around town, you could stick with Michelins. They're a good tire. You can pretty much put any 275/70 R16 tire on there. If you plan on taking the LX 450 off-road and want a bigger tire for a little more clearance, you can stuff a set of 285/75 R16 tires with your stock suspension. As far as brands and tire types go, it all depends on your personal prefernce and how you intend to use your vehicle. Doug
dwells50
I ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion STR's for my LX450. They just arrived today. As soon as I have them put on, I'll let you know what I think.
bonknhead
Dwells50, what size tire did you end up getting? I know that the pirelli's are available in 286/65-16s, but you didn't say what size wheel you're running. Stock?
dakrri
Stick with the Micheliens, plus if you buy 4 Micheliens right now, they will give you a free "home movie CD player". Remember to rotate and balance them every 5,000 miles and you will not have to buy new tires for years to come. Our Super Wal-Mart store in Wisconsin sells the M/S XLT for $138.00 a tire and for $10.00 more you get lifetime rotate and balance.
