bogus lane keeping assist malfunction warning

2016 RX 450H LKA malfunction error message appearing infrequently for no apparent reason.  Shutting off the car, then immediately restarting causes error to disappear.  No definitive guidance from dealer.  "Recommends" replacing Steering Assist ECU ($600.00 plus labor) with no guarantee.  Wish to simply suppress meaningless annoying error message for good.  Any ideas?

Have you deleted the code with an OBD II scanner? That's what the dealership should've done to verify the cause.
