JahGlass
Hi. I have a 1999 ES300, and the remote for the keyless entry has seemed to degrade in functionality over the last few months. It takes me about 10 taps of the unlock button, until the car finally unlocks. I was purchased off of ebay a year or two ago, and I dont know how many years of prior use it got. Is there a way to crack open the remote, and install a new battery, then reprogram?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt
byohzrd
I have the integrated key and remote, so correct me if I'm wrong: Gently pry the front and back pieces of the remote apart using a screwdriver. Replace the battery with the same type (usually found in the electronics department of retail stores, i.e. Wal Mart, Target, etc.). Snap the pieces back together, and you should be good to go... no reprogramming required. I replaced my remote battery last week and it made a huge difference. Now the remote works from 100 feet (maybe more).
