Rear lights pointed to in photo: What are they?

Hey guys!  Hoping someone can help me figure out what are these lights in the photo:

Q1:  What is the name of the lamp pointed by my index finger, how does it turn on, and what bulb does it need?

Q2:  What is the name of the lamp pointed by my little finger, how does it turn on, and what bulb does it need?

I can't get either to turn on and I'm not sure if there is even a bulb in there.

Regarding our RX400h: I think your index finger is pointing to a reverse light. The other lights are on when our headlights are on, so I'm sure there are bulbs behind them.
