rmiley Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Am looking at a 1995 ES 300 99000 car miles with a Avalon V6 with 32000 miles. Engine change was done professionally. Should I be concerned about engine change? What issues should I be concerned about? Thanks Ron Hurricane capital
SKperformance Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Hmm, do they make a 95 avalon? Why was it changed? price of the car?
steviej Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 sk I am thinking along the same lines as you. I think the ES is the 95. The Avalon engine is probably newer. I think the Avalon used/uses the 1MZ-FE too. My friend has a 98 Avalon and the engine looks very similar to that of the same year ES. my questionis where did the original ES engine go? 1. sludge or lack of proper maintenance? 2. blown due to higher active driver? 3. overheated and cracked the block? 4. how long ago was the powerplant transplant and has the proper maint. been performed since? I am trying to get a feel for the "type" of car owner the previous one was. This will give you some insight as to how well the car was maintained. steviej
SKperformance Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 the 1mz engine is the exact same for the earlier ones to a camry and ES
