nonons
just got a lexus sc300 today. 94 car and did 150Ks. i know nothing about cars except for professional R/C cars. i would like to know how do i increase the efficency of my car. as i know its a 3L car, which might be high on fuel consumption. maybe it would be great to have a list of mods or plain cleaning to increase my km/L. its a family car, so leaving only the driver seat is not a good idea. :P maybe i can start first: 1. take away unnessary weight for eg. rubbish in the trunk 2. close the windows when driving at high speed. 3...? 4...? will fitting in a larger air intake help? what about exaust pipe? thanks in advance
Mr. Curious
having a freer flowing intake and exhaust will help, but you have take into account how long it will take to have your costs and savings break even.
JDOwen2
Do this first, it's practically free: BFI Your next bet would be an electric cooling fan in place of the stock engine driven fan. Catback may give you a little bit also.

Mr. Curious
Apparently the throttle bodies on all toyotas have a habit of getting gummed up with carbon. Many people have reported great things after cleaning it out. what would you recommend cleaning it with?
jzz30
carb cleaner. as for fuel consumption just like RC cars its how you drive. aggressive throttle inputs will result in bad gas mileage or kiloage for you
