Replace Egr Valve On 95 Lexus Es 300

Hi,

My car recently has check engine lamp on. I took my car to Lexus dealer. After they read the code, they told me the EGR System malfunstion. Also if the egr valve and related parts have to replace, it cost me 724$ including labor. Anyone have this problem? Is it possible to fix it yourself? ANy document on how to fix this?

what were the exact code(s)? Did they happen to tell you.

Some EGR problems can be solved by a simple and thorough cleaning if you know how. Other problems, not so lucky.

Dealerships will ususally go for part replacement before they try to salvage or repair an existing malfunctioning part.
