I'm new to this forum so please excuse the question if it has been addressed before. I am the original owner of a 2002 SC430. Starting about 4 months ago I have had intermittent problems with the gas pedel not responding to being pressed or maintaining cruise speed. I have to press it down about 1-1.5 inches further to get it to repond. Normally, just barely touching the pedel will yield good engine response. Flooring the pedel usually resolves the problem until the next time. It happens about 5-10 times per week.

I have had it into the Lexus dealer twice and they have checked out multiple possibilities but nothing has shown up. No error messeges come up. So, any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Oh, finally, it has ~43,000 miles and I alternate brands of gas. I have also added Red Flag gas conditioner without much luck.

Thanks in advance for any help.

i heard of a similar symptom from my friend and he took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a vacume leak. he had no acceleration prior to this hose slipping off. so have all fo your hoses checked they might have slipped loose. and turns out he has about the same milage as you.
