RonW
I have a '93 & '00 SC300. My '93 is much more responsive and aggressive with transmission downshifts and I am wondering if this is due to the programming in the '93 ECM. Would like to swap ECM's to see. Does anyone know if they are compatible?
Lex Luthor
You cannot swap the two ecu's.
RonW
Thnx for reply I did cobfirm with dealer and you are correct they are not interchangeable. Still trying to understand how downshifts on my 2000 sc300 automatic can be made more agressive as they are on my 1993 sc300???
jzz30
you can manualy down it just move it through the shifter gate.
RonW
Yes I am aware of the ability to manual downshift, but my '93 does not require manual downshifting, it does a great job on its own. I can get my 2000 to downshift more agresively it just requires more gas pedal, trying to understand why they shift so differently, seems like there must be some way to adjust this. I have had other cars in the past (Chevy) that are very easy to make these adjustments through the transmission linkage.
Lex Luthor
There is no throttle valve cable to adjust on the '00 as i'm sure that's what you're referring to on the Chevy. It's controlled electronically and uses drive by wire.
