llama
I am thinking of purchasing a K&N filter, but after reading a couple of different vehicle forums stating an engine using a K&N will receive a greater amount of air, however, it will also let through large particles contaminating the oil and spoiling the oil at an increased rate. I know that they have oil in the air filter for attracting dust particles but I would like to know if anyone can verify the engine oil contamination? blueviol
i use K&N wet filter and have no problem so far. if it had such problem, there wouldn't be K&N's reputation.
llama
Thanks for responding! I will see if I can get ahold of one that fits in the stock airbox. Any suggestions where I can get a good price?
soarer479
every where you go they will be pretty much the same price just try any local auto parts store i.e. advance auto parts, nappa, or any thing near you
blueviol
well, I got rid of my stock air box and put this cone-type air filter as seen in the pic. I dunno about its performance advantage over rectangular-type filters that fit in the stock air filter box. I believe the cone-type sucks in more air. Mine was $75 from an ebay seller. Just search for "K&N Lexus"
