MJ50 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Hi all, I'm a newbie here. I have 2002 ES300 and I hear this noise when I drive. Sounds from driver's side somwhere (I think either front or rear wheel). The rumbling noise is similar to when u have flat tire or when u drive on rough pavement. I have 25k miles on my car and recently took my car to dealer for service. They said it's cuz of tires and stock tires are poor quality. Is this true??? Will changing tires fix this problem??? Seems like suspension problem IMO... Anyone w/ similar experience? Thx in advance.
amf1932 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 It could very well be the tires. I had the same kind of sound on my previous ES300 and when I replaced the tires it was once again smooth & quiet. ;) Oh yes......welcome aboard!
MJ50 Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 thx amf, i thought tires last longer than 25k miles... i'll give that a try and hopefully that fixes the problem...
amf1932 Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 If you watch your tire inflation (every month), rotate the tires (every 5000miles), and don't take turns at too fast a speed you can increase your tire mileage.
es30014 Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I have the same issue w/ my 02 ES. I think it might be the suspension because my es doesn't ride good. Also, do you have Bridgestone Turanzas?
SKperformance Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 lexus changes the tires for free it is the turanza to toyo's i think a few otehr threads wiht the same problem and a few resolutions find them to get the most answers to your problem
