Replacement Wireless Key For 1993 Ls400

Hi

I just bought 1993 Lexus LS400 yesterday, I only received spare key for car, Not Included Main Wireless Key. Checked with local Lexus, It cost $375. Should I just go head for ordering or anyone knows aftermarket Wireless key for 1993 LS400?

Congrats on the Lexus. I have 1993 LS too. For $375 you can get a waaaay better security/wireless remote. Look around and find yourself an aftermarket system. There is no specific aftermarket system for the 1993 LS400 because all the aftermarket security/wireless systems work with any type of car.

The reason why you should not get the Lexus keys is because, the remote keys can only work with in 15 feet radius of the car with new batteries and as batteries begain to get old, about a month or two the distance will decrease to about 5-10 feet radius. AND it costs $375 for 2-keys, but realy compared to all of the aftermarket systems the Lexus is worth around $90 or even less.

Here is a post about the batteries of the keys; at the end VMF recommends a two way alarm system. If you want to spend $375, spend it on this.

i had a "rattler" system intsalled in my prev. car and it worked well. the shock sensor could have been more sensitive but it served its purpose.
