Jean Posted June 22, 2004 Share Posted June 22, 2004 Recently we purchased a 2000 Lexus RX300 and had a trailer hitch installed to pull a pop-up camper. The camper is 1500 lbs not loaded we estimate 2000 lbs loaded and I would stay that is high. We turned off the overdrive to tow per the owners manual. The problem is while towing the car jerks it will stop for a few minutes then do again. Any ideas of why or what we can do to eliminate this problem? bluestu Posted June 23, 2004 Share Posted June 23, 2004 I don't think I would try towing anything with an RX300. The car does not have enough power or torque for towing a 2000 lb. trailer.
