2007 Lexus 460ls Transmission Question

My 2007 460ls transmission will operate smoothly until the car is started and driven again. The reverse gear will not engage for a few seconds. The car will not shift into second gear. When I let the car sit for several hours it will operate with no transmission problems. Any thoughts?

Is there a way for you to check the fluid level?

Has it ever been replaced?

Hello,

The car is at a transmission shop. Level is correct. Do not know if the fluid has been changed. We may try to replace the TCM with a remanufactured one. Do you know where this unit is located? Appreciate your input.

I cannot find anything that specifies the TCM's exact location.

There are several sites (such as the one below) that offer remanufactured TCMs.
