  2. It was Lugoff Toyota in Lugoff South Carolina. Price was a bit high but I knew that going in, $1300 ish if I remember correctly, and they did a nice quick clean job, yes I was very satisfied with them. OOps, I just noticed you were asking people in Michigan the question, Lugoff might be to far! 馃榿
  3. Yeah I鈥檝e checked out the videos. I wouldn鈥檛 post here without first checking that stuff, heh. 馃槢 There鈥檚 one in particular which shows a schematic and this is how I know that I鈥檓 doing the right thing (loosening the right bolts, etc.). The thing is, it seems like I can鈥檛 loosen the tensioner any more, and it needs to be looser. Tomorrow when I have some light, I鈥檓 gonna try and actually disconnect the various cables in the hopes of creating more clearance, then I鈥檓 gonna see if I can鈥檛 get the tensioner to loosen even more, because the last video I looked at seems as if it *should* get looser. This is the video btw, in case anyone ever wants to see. I think this is the best one available:
  4. Hello, Dan. Have you looked at a video such as this one?

  6. Hey guys. So I was just outside trying to replace my AC/Alternator belt. The old one shredded itself last night, barely made it home on battery power only. New belt came today. After doing some quick research I see what is involved in getting the alternator to pivot down, in order to give me enough slack to be able to slide the new belt on. Problem is, the alternator doesn't pivot down enough and there's really no way to get leverage to pry/force it on. I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem or am I missing something? As it stands, the alternator swings up and down about half an inch, just by using my hands to lift it up and down. I am pretty sure I have loosened the adjusting bolt as much as it will let me. If I keep loosening the adjuster screw will it eventually reach a limit and then break if forced further? Because that's what it feels like..? There is basically no clearance and I'm running out of daylight, but I did remove the skirt in the front to try and get a look at the alternator from the bottom, and I just can't really tell.
  7. I had mine done at Davis Auto Care in Northville
  8. Thank you, AO. May I ask which dealer? Were you satisfied with the price and service?
  9. Had mine done at a local Toyota dealer.
  10. Hi all...owners of the SC in Michigan, where did you have the timing belt replaced?
  11. We're looking to buy a used GX 460 but want the brake hold feature. If it's available, could you tell us what years and trim packages it is on? Thanks!
  12. Yes, after replacing the battery in your 2016 Lexus RX350, you will need to perform a reset to ensure all systems are functioning optimally. Here are the steps to reset your Lexus after replacing the battery: Turn Off the Ignition and Disconnect the Negative Terminal: Before you start, make sure the ignition is turned off. Then, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery1. Wait for 15 Minutes: Allow the vehicle鈥檚 systems to reset by waiting for about 15 minutes. Reconnect the Negative Terminal and Turn On the Ignition: After waiting, reconnect the negative terminal and turn on the ignition1. Reset Specific Functions: Follow the on-screen prompts to reset specific functions. This includes resetting the clock and date settings, power windows and sunroof, and the audio and navigation systems. Test the Functionality of Your Lexus After Resetting: After you鈥檝e completed the reset, test the functionality of your Lexus to ensure everything is working properly. Please note that each window has to be reset individually. To do this, start the vehicle and roll each window down and hold for second. Also, all your radio presets will be lost and you will have to re-enter all. If you experience any issues with the functionality of your Lexus after resetting, troubleshooting options are available for common issues during the resetting process. A comprehensive test drive helps identify and address any remaining issues.

  14. Do I need to do a reset after replacing battery in my 2016 RX350 and how do I reset? Thanks.
  15. Traction control can come in handy under the following conditions: Heavy Rain, Snow, or Icy Conditions: Traction control is essential in situations such as heavy rain, snow, or icy roads, significantly improving safety. It helps prevent your car from losing traction, hydroplaning, or potentially crashing. Navigating Curves in Adverse Weather or Making Sharp Turns on Unstable Surfaces: It proves particularly valuable when navigating curves in adverse weather or making sharp turns on unstable surfaces. Driving on Slippery or Uneven Roads: Traction control should be on for most driving conditions, especially slippery or uneven roads. Sometimes a no-start (no crank) conditions indicates that the starter is failing. If the odometer is broken, how can you know for certain how many miles have been driven?
  16. What year is your RX 350? By the way, I've found that Apple is seldom "state of the art". They still do not have an intelligent stylus. and their photo abilities are almost always a year behind that of Samsung. Perhaps it's good that Toyota/Lexus does not imitate Apple.馃槒
  17. Okay, I am 72 years old, but my mind is sharp...why was the shifter designed to be so confusing? I have had 10 or more Lexus' and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the car. The shifter is not intuitive...as one of my sons said, "Dad, you can tell this car wasn't designed by Apple".
  18. I found a nice Is400 in good condition that I want to buy. The problem is that it doesn't have the traction control and heated seats package. I don't really care for the heated seats as the car is relatively low priced, but I am for the traction control. Is it necessary? Also the car doesn't start the first time. Is this something I should worry about. And the odometer has been broken for 3 years, but it's a single owner car and has serviced regularly.
  19. Probably going to take some HEAT for saying this, but it's the truth: I've gone thru two dash cams very quickly and finally gave up the notion that electronics operated above the dashboard will last very long. Computer chips/components generate a lot of heat due to higher clock speeds. Add to that temperatures near 150 F in direct sunlight, and you have a situation where components age quicker than they would sitting on your stereo/TV shelf. A good practice is to keep a bright reflective dash or windshield cover in use after parking outside. And always park facing the car away from the sun. That also reduces the heat build up on your seats and seat-backs which in turn reduces wear on the seat fabric. Just whistling past the junk yard.
  20. One running lamp is brighter than the other. I have replaced both bulbs to unsure they are the same and the problem persists. Any ideas?? 208 Lexus GX470
  21. my 2019 rx350 Fsport ML radio gone and the computer screen gone black 3 weeks ago. I paid 3500 for the radio when I purchased the car in 2019. They said they have to replace the radio for $2600. what the waste of money !!
