Hi:

The check engine light was on yesterday on my 2000 Lexus RX300. It turned out being P0770: shift solenoid E malfunction. I could not find any post in this forum. Did any body have experienced such a problem? Thanks

Fairly common problem on RX. If you use the search function (bottom left) and search on "P0770" or "transmission failure" you will get a lot of info. Or see post #99 by lenore which pretty much sums up your problem. It's located here:

Did your rpm go up also in every gear, if so you have lost overdrive...and probably the transmission.
