  1. were they making some noise ?

yes, i cleaned it all out though. its prrrrrrrfect now. i swear to god i am never going to sell my car after putting this much work into it. i changed the front and rear valve cover gaskets and put in new platinum +4 sparks. i also cleaned out my throttle body.

  2. I bet this topic was covered, but has anyone have a rotten egg smell coming from the exhust?? I think its coming from exhust. Also is it a good idea to let the engine run for a few minutes after a cold start. I notice the rpm is about 2000-2500 when i start the car. After a few minutes the rpm gets lower.

i have a foul smell too, but its my rear :censored: gasket im in the process of replacing.

  3. Took me six hours to remove my fuel injector properly to get to the rear valve cover gasket and spart plugs to change them out. In this process i also cleaned out the air filter box and throttle body. Today I will spend the day putting it all back together, plugging back in sensors and bolting everything back on. I think I saved hundreds of dollars doing this myself.. Oh, I'll get some pictures later if I remember..

  4. LOVE my '93 es300, great price and value for the car too. make sure you know the history of the car if you can to see who owned it, how it was driven, and anything done on the car. fortunately mine was owned by an old guy who babied it and had EVERYTHING done with all paperwork. auhh lexus lovers..

oh yeah, its the es300 is a PERFECT size, not to big, not too small. OH, and welcome to the club man!!

  5. Took me about 45 mins of hands and knees scrubbing. Splatters from paint on the road came up right underneith the door on the sideskirt. What worked best was using adhesive & wax remover and a scratchless scrubber. Hope this can help anyone with the same problem as me. Those road workers need to be more :censored: carefull with their road paint!!

  6. After new OE struts, strut mounts, and spring insulators (all installed by an independent Lexus specialist), the classic "bad strut mount" noise remained - although not as loud.

I turned to the dealer to solve the problem.  They lubed the "bump stops" , and the noise is completely gone!!!

The fix was no charge since the dealer had originally diagnosed the noise as bad strut mounts.  Kudo's to Lexus of Portland

    Gary :D

NICE!! I live in portland too man!! Represent Ptown

  7. Nice! Not into the bra but thats personal preference.

I like where you mounted our sat. antenna, hows the reception? I have the antenna for my Sirirus mounted on the rear parcel shelf but I think I'm going to buy a smaller antenna and mount it either right where you have it mounted or above the rear window in the same way.

it gets PERFECT reception, i like it better than in the rear. i had sirius on my other car and had the antenna mounted on the back but i think it works better in the front, i get a tad bit better reception for some odd reason.

  8. I figured this out for myself. All i had to do was remove the window switch from the door panel, remove the switch cover on top, and underneith there is a square white box with a hole in the center for moving the window down. Spray WD40 down the small hole and put the switch cover back on top. Then plug it back into the car and move the switch up and down a couple times and it will begin to work like new! This saved me a fortune instead of buying all new switches... Let me know how it works for you because it worked for all of mine!
