  1. My uncle has a OBDII Reader and says it only goes from 96 and up. Also its not just my charging system warning light is on, but that my battery is getting drained with no charge going back to it. I talked to another one of my friends last night and he said the you can't use an OBDII Reader on the charging system. U would need an Chargin System Reader or sumthing like that but he said good luck trying to find one in this town. I'll be outside going through every wire and cable. Will check this forum again in a couple of hours.
  2. I have a 95 Lexus Gs 300. Yesterday when me and my wife got home we came inside, but she remembered that we needed milk so she went out to the car to go to the store and about 5 minutes later she came inside saying the battery warning light was on. I looked in the manual and it wasn't the battery low level warning light but the Charging system warning light. I believe this means the charging system for the battery(Meaning the Alternator). So this morning when i went outside to start the car to let it warm up(I live in Dillingham Alaska in the Bush so i will let my car warm up for 15 minutes) When i started the car the light wasn't on so i went inside and told my wife(Woo Hoo). Well after i got shoes and a coat on my kid, me and my wife went out to the car to go too work and the Damn light was on. So i left work at 12:30 today to go to my grandmas garage were i could pull the car part way so i could get out of the snow. Took the Alternator off and took it to Napa Auto Parts. They said the alternator was Perfect. Put the alternator back in and light still staid on. Went up to my dads to get a terminal for the car with the car and on my way back down to my grandmas the Low Oil level Light went on. ABS warning light came on. Trac light turned on. And Check engine light that is on because it hasn't been recet turned off(Finally) but then a couple of minutes later Alot of the warning light turned back of but never the Charging engine light. So i went down to my grandmas and replaced the terminal and the Charging system warning light would blink off ever 2 minutes or so. All positive wires are fine. Negative ground looks good. Battery slowly died right when i got it to one of the towns machanics shops. He tested the battery and said he charged it to 14 Volts. Don't think its the battery its only a year old. I really don't know just going to go out tomorrow and chase every light down. O and the Alternator Fuse looks fine. Can any body help me before i try buyiing a new brain Chip or system or whatever its called.
  3. Hello Everybody, This weekend i wanted to take off each wheel individually so as to clean each wheel well, caliper, shocks, so on and so forth. The spare tire jack that is located in the trunk of my 1995 Gs300 is funny. I started to jack up the one rear side and as the tire started to lift the car start to move side ways, i was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on my until the jack went side ways as well as the car. So i put the jack away until i am actually on the side of the road with a flat. Thats when i got the floor jack from my uppa's(Eskimo for Grandpa). I started taking off each wheel and cleaning and checking each wheel well for any thing wrong or out of the ordinary. On the Rear driver's side when i got the tire lifted off of the ground and i went to grab the tire the tire and rotar moved together. So i took the tire off and the rotar was still moving and i nothiced the the bolt that hold the rotar onto the drive line(or whatever the exact name is called) was loose. I then proceeded to take of the cotter pin and nut, put anti rust inhibitor on the nut then put it back on and tightened it. When i had the nut in my hand it looked like there was some red on the threads. Was this because you should install the nut with Red Lock Tight. I don't know but put the nut back on and tightened it to the tightest i could get it. For the past couple of weeks theres been a shaking in the car. After i did this the shaking has since stopped. Good think i ordered Brake pads and decided to do a Pre Cleaning before the brake pads came in.
  4. I have never changed the brake pads on my 1995 Lexus Gs300 and am wondering if there are any facts, tips, or tricks that i should know of before i go and change my brake pads my self
  5. The rims that came on the lexus 1995 Gs 300 that i purchased last year are 17" Chrome. I think there a aftermartket factory rim because they have lexus emblems on them and in the owners manual i believe it talked about it you have the rims ect....... They are pretty nice looking rims on this kind of car. Hopefully i will have some pics by tomorrow. I just found the rims that were purchased for my car by the previous owner. I found them at lexstacy.com. There are actuall factory rims that are car specific. The price was around 1,650 for all four. They are infact 17" but i know your looking for 19". I'm attaching a picture of them.

  7. Hey Man....I see that it is 2 months later but was wondering if you could let me know the outcome of your transmission problem. I have a 1994 GS300 that recently started having issues....sounds very similar to the issues you had. I believe that there was too much fluid in the tranny and could have messed up the tranny pump from too much pressure as mentioned before. When the car is started, it makes a sound similar to that of a Power Steering system that is low on fluid (whining sound). Anyways, The car drives fine for about 10 min and then it eventually starts slipping which makes me think that the transmission is overheating and causing the slippage. What route did you go with the tranny? Swap it out for a new/used one or do a transmission rebuild? I really gotta get this fixed asap but don't want to spend a ton of $$$ (which I know is hard when having a Lexus) Any response and knowledge would be greatly appreciated! I my self have a 1995 GS 300 with about 181,000 miles. Two weeks ago i changed my oil. The next day when i went out and started the car i let it warm up for about five minutes than got in too go to work. When i put it in reverse and tried to go it took around 3200 rpm's just too start to move. Then when i shifted it into drive it took about the same Rpm's to go but ounce i start going the tranny acts fine. Even when i stop and start again after that its just fine. It only seems to happen first thing in the morning every day. I was thinking last week that for some crazy reason i drained the transmission fluid on accident being that it was the first time i was changing the oil on this vehicle(that would be pretty stupid). But after checking the oil and tranny level that doesn't seem to be the case. All my fluids are fine. I was also wondering why it does this only in the morning. I don't here a whining sound like you guys but it bugs me.
