  1. pull the EFI fuse, the problem still haven't came back and I still have cold AC, lol, hope that works for you before spending money
  2. you know what, I pulled my EFI fuse about three days ago to reset computer and now *crossing my fingers* the AC problem hasn't come back, even when I rev it a bit... pull the 20 amp fuse and leave it out for about 30 seconds, and put back... see if that helps out... ghost in the machine, ha!
  3. I'm having the same problem, happened after I was trying to avoid some oncoming traffic crossing the road and having to "floor it". I have the same year and same car... I think the problem is the clutch, haven't looked at mine yet, but I believe the quick rev burnt the clutch or it's just getting way too old.. might have to replace the whole compressor if not the clutch
  4. thanks saka... I'm getting a lexus tranny and service manual hopefully by this weekend, I'll see what happens then I'll be back on here to drop a response... I'm sure if anyone else has this problem in the future then they can google and find my situation to help them out, lol..
  5. I know, towing... haha.. but I'm not going to go that route yet... I'm optimistic.. I did talk to a lexus mechanic today, finally! he said it might be the transmission pump.. over-filling the fluid could cause too much pressure buildup and also lack of circulation.. there was a high pitch squealing sound that used to be there before, he said it was prolly the pump going out and parts of it may have grinded off and also impeding the filter so that even less fluid was moving through... so a bad cycle of things getting worse and worse.. i was told the pump is pretty pricey and requires the tranny to be dropped, and even so, there could have been abnormal wear from that incident that would call for a complete rebuild... sheeet.. just my luck.. getting a used tranny is almost scary, but the price of one shipped to me is $1000 and a-1 certified by insurance inspectors and I forgot to ask the milage and it's an A350E from a 97 GS300.... or 25-2800 for AAMCO to rebuild with a 1 year, 12,000 mile warranty... damn, I paid 2800 for my GS... but anyways.... my options are: maybe solenoid (if that can be a factor), the pump replacement if it's worth it, a certified tranny from a wrecked lexus, or a costly overhaul with a decent warranty...
  6. just got the computer on it and no codes, draining fluid again and will drop pan and change filter... will it be looking like I have to replace the tranny?? seems like no one has any imput at all on this topic?? take it to a experienced tranny shop and get a estimate....see what they say i would love to, but I cant drive it anywhere... I just cleaned out the filter and put toyota atf fluid in it and it got into reverse and drove into second gear all when I was in the parking lot.. put it back in to park for less then a minute and no gears again.. it felt strong tho when it was getting in gear and changing gears.. I don't get it.. maybe a solenoid?

  8. I'm a new owner of a used 1996 gs300, the same day I bought my car my transmission (A350E) started to slip until I had to pull over and had nothing after that... wonder if anyone has any ideas of what it can be? electronic or mechanical? I've searched and found one input on the internet about it can be sensors, or throttle pressure cable.. I cant get access to a repair manual or am I ready to take the car to a shop, I don't trust mechanics and I do the work myself.. so any insight would be really helpful.. oh and I'm going to get a computer tomorrow to check for codes, but if codes pop up, I'll have no reference.. closest lexus dealership is over 100 miles away.. oh, the previous owner put too much tranny fluid in tranny, I have a feeling that is a major factor, I drained it and refilled it correctly, should problems go away? I just ran it a couple days later and the gears started to grab again but then started to slip out.. do I have to drain the tranny dry and do it all over again? or are the solenoids done? A lexus dealership said the computer needs to be flashed... thanks, Mike snake005@hotmail.com
