  1. Try turning your A/C on manually, then saying 'Raise Temperature' or 'Lower Temperature'. At least we'll then know that it does take the commands, and it's just not understanding you when you say 'automatic air conditioning'.
  2. That's really weird. Why would they do away with the voice activation between one year and the next in the same generation? Maybe it's a Canadian model only feature??
  3. Goo Gone, or WD40 might do it. What about heating it up with a hair dryer?
  4. What year is yours? What screen were you in when you pushed the voice command button? Do you have the NAV system?
  5. Damn, I love it when I'm right. My 400h is a 2006. Just went out to the garage. Turned on the vehicle. Climate control was off. Then pushed the talk button on the steering wheel. After the beep I said 'Automatic air conditioning'. The system (female voice) responded, 'turning air conditioning on'. Then tried 'raise temperature' - system response, 'raising temperature'. Same for 'lower temperature'. When I tried giving it an acutal number it was a bit wonky. My system is set for Celsius. When I said '24 degrees or any other Celsius number', it kept saying 'setting temperature 80 degrees'. It might work better for American vehicles that are displayed in Farenheit not Celsius. This worked from all screens, though it seemed if I was in the map screen, the system would sometimes do 'map' things instead of climate things. When on the 'climate' screen it seemed to be more focused on doing 'climate' things. I didn't fool around with any other commands (it's late, I wanna go to bed) but I would guess that all the commands listed in the link in my post above would work. Funny thing is, the system recognizes other words besides the ones listed. If instead of saying 'raise temperature', I said 'increase temperature' it would do the same thing. Waiting for your apology cduluk...bahahaha...just kidding. You're right about the 'go home' voice command - it might work one time out of ten for me, otherwise it shows me marinas, chinese restaurants, parks, gas stations etc. Funny thing is, none of things it shows me even sound remotely like 'home'. I could understand if I said 'home' and it showed me a 'dome' or something... I find it easier to just press the 'home' button when the map screen is up.
  6. I'm at work and my RX is at home. I'm almost sure I've played around with the climate control commands before. I think I've even seen a reference card tucked in with my owner's manual. Will be home around 11pm EST and will check and repost.
  7. Sure you can..(tell it to adjust temperature among other things) See here http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st&id=12981 This is a list of all the voice commands available...the trick is getting the system to actually understand anything you say. I've given up on trying to use voice commands with the NAV system.
  8. You could always drop by the dealership on Monday...I won't be able to sleep at night till I know what this is...
  9. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Your posts, by the way, are beginning to take on a rambling, disjointed format.
  10. 1. Same here. If you listen carefully, you may find it's loud for the first little bit, then it noticeably quiets down, then it shuts off when it's done it's warmup. 2. I find the same thing. 3. I agree, but I think the Mark Levinson could have used a better subwoofer. According to my shop manual, the two speakers in the rear doors are woofers, but I find there's just not enough bass.
  11. Thanks. I'm trying to stick to my 'done with this thread' mantra, and I couldn't find any way to delete the post. I'm sure the '.' will offend someone, though. :D
  12. My guess is, if you find a Tesla forum, you'll find people there who think a Tesla is the be all end all in vehicles and will defend a Tesla against anything else out there. So based on what you've said, you'll never own ANY vehicle because there is always bound to be some owner who buys the vehicle JUST because of the label. Still, I have to reiterate that I have never seen anyone purchase something based on how he feels about the owners of the product RATHER than the product itself.
  13. OK....I'm batting zero here...I thought you had a 2010...lemme check the 2009 manual.... Is that black plastic snorkel looking thing attached to the tank or is that some sort of black cap on the top of the tank? Can you get a shot from below. I have OCD and this is really bugging me...hahaha
  14. I can't believe that you are letting postings on an internet forum sway major decisions in your life. I would think one either likes a car for what it is and buys it or one doesn't like it and doesn't buy it. What your perception is of current owners of a vehicle/brand should have no bearing on the purchase. BTW, no need to call Lexus about that 50K, because they'll get it from someone else.
  15. Coolant reservoir. Like I said, take a look at page 455 of your owner's manual...or look at it in the link below if the link works. In the illustration in the manual, you can just make out that the coolant reservoir is under the air intake tube, which II can clearly make out in your pictures. https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrive...l&locale=en
  16. Like I said, done with this thread, assinine, and you insult way too easily. I do have one more apology to make, and that's to anyone who reads this post to the end and to the original poster. I've driven it waaaay off topic. Please lock it, or delete all my meaningless, mean spirited posts.
  17. However...I fail to see your issue with this post. It was directed towards the OP...who is dissatisfied with his car. He simply, and very respectfully made him a suggestion towards a car he might find more suitable because he had been in the same situation himself. The only possible issue one could have with this post is that this poster preferred the Murano to the Lexus...and thats not fair...and you trying to paint him as a troll isn't fair either. I'm glad you apologized...because he deserved an apology. OK, Mom, as long as you're happy... :P I thought I was done with this thread but..... I don't have an issue with that particular post. I was only pointing it out as the first mention of the Murano in this thread, since you stated that he (Krazylexus) was not the one who brought up the Murano. Regarding my post about Nissan forums - I don't care if he likes his Murano better than a Lexus, just thought I'd point out that that would be a great thing to post how much he enjoys his Murano....at a Nissan forum where it would likely be better utilized than at a Lexus forum. Really though, you don't find the following statements trollish.... "the Murano was just better designed, quiet, better NAVI, stereo, etc. Your right, it doesn't compare since the Murano performs better. Then we decided to try the newer 07+ Camry's, within 1500 miles of both of them, the transmissions blew I wish people were not so brand loyal blinded. Because you and a few others really show it" Now I'm done with this thread...don't care what assinine comments follow.
  18. Brand loyal blinded..? Let's see what I've owned..in order I might add... 1980 Honda Civic 1989 Honda Accord 1990 Honda Accord 1992 Honda Accord 1993 Nissan Pathfinder 1994 Nissan Sentra 1995 Honda Civic 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan 1988 Nissan Maxima 1992 Nissan Maxima 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle 2006 Honda Odyssey 2001 Subaru Outback H6 2006 Lexus RX400h I certainly don't see much brand loyalty to Lexus on my part. If anything I'd say I was more of a Honda/Nissan guy. I will admit, I really liked my '92 Maxima - 4DSC for those in the know. And, for what it's worth, I actually like the new Murano (and the old one (2006 up)).
  19. He did not bring up the subject of Nissan, he responded to the statement made by RX400h. It only makes sense he would reference the Murano...based on its similarity to the RX and his personal experience with it. And the only reason to make a comment that he should find another forum to post on is that he would somehow be unwelcome to post his viewpoints here...which is not the case...trust me. Your original post - "He wasn't the one who brought up the Murano, he was responding to a statement made by RX400h" I encourage you to actually read through this thread from the beginning and you'll see that, as I already stated, the first mention anywhere in this post about a Murano was from him. So again, you stated "He wasn't the one who brought up the Murano, he was responding to a statement made by RX400h" and I'm correctly pointing out that he WAS the one who brought up the Murano. The only posts by RX400h PRIOR to the mention of the Nissan Murano by Krazylexus were #7 and #29. #7 was a post about the crappy nav system and #29 was a post about closing the thread. So which of those posts by RX400h post would cause the Murano to be mentioned FOR THE FIRST TIME in this thread? Anyway, I'm done with this. Krazylexus, if I've offended you, I apologize.
  20. Looking at page 455 of your owner's manual - it's hard for me to tell from the picture, but it's not the engine coolant reservoir is it? Any chance you could pop off the engine cover and take a pic?
  21. Oh crap, you're right, I'm picturing my vehicle, which has the battery on the passenger side with the washer fluid tank right there.
  22. Windshield washer fluid tank would be my best guess, without actually standing beside you having you point out the tank.
  23. Is there a Murano specific forum I can go to to tell everyone how much better my RX is than their Murano? Just wondering.... Or better yet, is there a Murano specific forum YOU can go to to tell everyone how much better the Murano is than an RX. Just wondering...
