  1. Hello Everyone. I have a 1995 Lexus LS400. I need to replace the door glass on the driver's door. I have removed the door panel but I have not been able to find any instructions on removing the glass. The current glass is in good shape but the plastic support that is attached to the bottom of the glass is broke. Lexus does not sell the part I need except with a new glass as well. (Lexus cost $638.00). I have found a replacement glass with the plastic support attached and I'm ready to install. If anyone has instructions on how to accomplish the replacement I would appreciate any help. My thanks to all for a great forum..
  2. Tail pipes are clean - no buildup of any kind. No black smoke at any time. No gas leaks anywhere to be found. The smell of gas is only thru the exhaust and only duriing startup. Thank you for your comments...
  3. Hi Everyone... I have a 1995 LS400 with 123,000 miles. Car runs great but lately getting the smell of heavy gas from the exhaust at startup. My question: Is this a sign of Oxygen Sensors going bad?? Check engine light has not been on and the car is "code" free. Any help greatly appreciated.
  4. try disconnecting the battery for about 3-4 minutes. light should reset. hope that helps.
  5. I also changed the transmission mount on my 95 Ls400. Very easy job. Once the car is on jacks, it took about 15 minutes to make the change....

  9. I purchased a 1995 Lexus LS400 last April for $3500.00. Has 115,000 miles and very few maintenance records. I am the third owner. Since the purchase, I have accomplished the following: Timing belt, water pump, front crank shaft sheal, idler pulley, thermastat & drive belts. Change plugs, wires, dist caps and rotors Clean the throttle body replace the cabin A/C filter Installed new front & rear brake pads installed an optima battery Rad fllushed serviced transmission & filter replace pcv valve replaced lower ball joints 4 wheel alignment (toyota dealer) I could go on but I'm sure you get the idea. i was able to accomplish all of this using information available from this forum..All of the information was dead-on correct and I cannot thank you enough. I used OEM parts in all cases and was able to obtain them at the various suppliers that have been identified on this site. Almost every item discussed goes on a 2-do list to be checked out and/or repaired. Again, thanks to all of you..
