  3. My Rx 300 skid on the ice once and Check Engin light came on. I had a tech diagnose it with analyzer, readout stated "P500 Speed sensor" and some other readings. He reset the ENgin check light. It was gone for 3 weeks. I happen to drive over the ice again, with one whel spinning free. Engin check light is back on again. What is going on. Is there a problem? If there problem with the speed sensor, where is the speed sensor and how to replace it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have RX 300 1999 Nathangoldman@msn.com :(
  4. I had this exact problem last week. I had an independant mechnic diagnos and fix it for $385 total (including the electrical control unit part which was $260 from Lexus). It shouldn't be difficult for you to replace yourself. From talking to my mechanic, you just need to remove the glove box and wrangle yourself under dash by the passenger seat. You should be able to locate it from there, it is a silver piece about the size of a calculator. The electrical connections have snap connectors. I don't think you need any special tools for this. I pulled my glove box once to service the a/c servos and it wasn't very difficult. Let me venture out in replacing it. Any body can tell me the steps? How to remove the Glove compartment?
  5. AC comes on, I hear the click, feel the slight cooler air coming out of the vents when driving at 50+ Mph, but turn on the fan knon, nothing happens motor not respoding. Disconnected the motor connector and connected it directly to the +12 volts ONLY THEN THE FAN works from on direct input from the battery, but does not work when I turn on the knob. Must be the fan motor control module/resister, I found the part no. xxxxx40 has been replaced by xxxx50, aparently due to problems, I dont remember the part no. Anyway, Dealer wants $500 Pohanka lexus to replace it plus parts cost $257. Can I replace it myself? what will be the steps required, do I need special tools? Please respond back to my email addres: presidentUSA1@gmail.com thanks
