Thought I would bump this post, because I have the same question, no where near an expert with cars, Is Carb Cleaner and throttle body cleaner the same thing ? do I spray directly on it, or inside ? Do I remove the screws that look like its holding on a small box of somesort ? thanks !!

No I haven't, should I ? what should I use ? degreaser and a rag ? about 50 deg F outside, engine is cold, and RPM should be 800 ? thanks that was helpfull... i knew 1400 wasn't right... .

Hello everyone, My lexus has a small amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust, and higher than normal idle, I read the chilton, and found nothing about high idle, only "speratic" idle , or rought idle, Any Idea's ?

Can anyone give me the rundown of how to check your vacume lines for air leaks ?? thatnks

Any update on this ? I also seem to have 1200RPM idle... is my IAVC suspect ? 80,000 miles. .

Hey everyone, just an update for anyone interested... My problem was the high idle, my car idles at 1400 rpm ?? then when it is warmer it's still a little high,, If anyone has the culprit for that, it would be greatly aprecieated... Tranny and motor mounts are fine. thanks for the help and suggestions thus far ..

Assuming correct tire's and bolt pattern and offset.... will they fit ? I'm aware that 20X8 will fit.. . any help would be apreciated.. thanks

Well, I found a shop, checked the bbb for complaints, they have a A+ rating, everything seems legit, The cars going to the shop monday morning, I'll post the finding for anyone interested / future reference for anyone that comes along with similar symtoms...

Thanks for the help everyone... but when you say "have it done right by the right people " that's what I'm trying to do, I'm basically trying to ask how to do it the right way, maybe I didn't stress that earlier.. But what do "the right people" do ? torch springs, install adjustable coilover ? etc etc. .. Either way, thanks everyone for all your help, I do apreciate it. .

Hi Ben, I was reading one or your posts and was wondering if you could help me out... My 2004 ES330 does the same thing that you mentioned in a post. Shifting from park to drive, or from park to reverse, it shifts HARD. and also depends how bad by the rpm.. My question is what did you do to fix it ? I was told by someone on the forum to replace the tranny fluid, which I will. But you mention it didn't fix it ? I have 80,000 miles and just bought it, and the fluid is red, but "kinda" dirty... not black smudge dirty, but not impressive either.. . Any help, or light you could shed on the subject would be greatly apreciated.. thanks !!

Also, when going to an independant shop, what do I ask as far as finding out if they are "Lexus certified? " or do I ask if they are "ACE" certified ?

Hey, anyone that has 20's or anything larger than stock, could you tell me how your ride quality is ? before and after ? how big of a difference etc etc I have a 2004 ES330 , and am thinking of getting 20's , but might just go with 18's or something more moderate if the ride quality suffers too much... any personal experience would help thanks !!

Anyone have any suggestions of how to get out the "fog" that seems to get in the headlights ? Without buying new headlight assembly's ? I have a ES330 2004 .. .

Not to sure about this, maybe an OBVIOUS question I dunno. Can I purchase the headlight assembly, and put my old bulbs in ? or does the headlights, and bulbs always come together ? Otherwise anyone have suggestions for headlights with moisture in them ?? I was thinking about just buying the headlight assembly, but not sure

That's crazy, no one said they were going to take out their springs, and saw them off an inch and put them back in. This isn't the 1991 Honda forum.....
