  1. Nope Check engine light is ok, comes on before you crank and i just replaced both O2's at 105K and it now has 135K. The car also doesnt give off any smoke. Also after the seafoam the car has more power so theres no power loss either. Im lost, is it worth taking to the dealer at this point?
  2. I have a 96 ES300 with approx. 135K on it. Runs literally like new, also just did the seafoam treatment like said in the forum and it runs even better. Only problem is gas mileage. When I first got the car with 85K i would get anywhere from 350-450 miles on a full tank depending on city or highway. This week I emptied my tank with only 200 miles! I did the plugs and wires and PCV and air filter at 105K. Is there anything I am forgetting to do? Someone told me that the O2 sensors may be giving out again but i dont think it would make that much of a difference would it? Also they were replaced at 105K with universals. I also prescanned the forum but found no new info or anyone else with the terrible MPG I am getting. Due to that I dont understand why this car is getting the gas mileage of a F-150 now.
  3. Thanks alot now i know i need a new one, one question what could have been the cause of this? what generally makes the alignment get thrown off? Just want to know to be pre cautious next time. Also now i know the GS cd changer wont work so im assuming that a SC300 12 dsk changer wont also right? Someone told me the SC changer would work. just wondering. Thanks!
  4. Lately i have been having some weird problems with my 6 CD changer in the trunk. Sometimes it plays just fine then out of no where it displays ERR. Then even after i unplug the cd changer it wont work, it will just keep saying err. I hear the cd's loading but it wont play them. It works but on and off. I also used a CD lens cleaner which helped for a week then the same problem started again. As of now im looking for another CD changer. If someone can help me with this current cd changer i would greatly appreciate it. Also just wanted to know if a 12 CD changer from a 1994 GS300 would fit? It has the same plugs but would the head unit recognize the 12 CD's? Thanks.
  5. Thanks! Alot. Really helped!! Changed the O2 sensor and the car now gets better gas mileage and the check engine light is finally gone! Thanks Alot! Also will do with the belts and pump, just got the belts and also got the air filter and PCV valve, will get the pump in a few days. Thanks alot once again! :)

Ok, first off i tried to look for this post and couldnt find one, just letting everyone know, and if there is one im sorry for opening another one, i apologize to the pro's in the forum, my problem is that i had my car checked by a garage and my bank 1 O2 sensor is bad. As i was told this is the rear one. I just replaced the front one about 3 months ago and now the rear went. My problem is i need to know how to change the rear O2 sensor, i already have the sensor and just need to know its location and how to get to it. Its a 1996 ES300. Just hit the 125K mark, I have had it since it had 82K on it, and havent done much maintainance wise except for brakes, tires, and spark plugs. Is there anything i should be changing at the 125K mark? Also are Bosch Platinum +2 spark plugs good for this car? Sorry for all the questions, just dont want to make a stupid mistake that might end up costing me an engine. Can anyone please help? Thanks! :chairshot:
  7. Ok first off im new here and i just have a couple questions about my car. 1996 ES300 Coach. First I wanted to know where the Air Intake sensor was located. The other and major problem is that i just bought a pair of JDM power retractable mirrors for the ES. They fold in and out with the push of a button. Problem is i dont know how to install them. I can get the mirrors on the car no problem, but the wiring and the relay are the problem. Where would the relay be located for the current mirrors anyway? Some say its also called the computer for the power mirrors or the mirror control. Also if i somehow do find a way to get the wires in can i just plug them up and they will work or not? If anyone can help me with this i would appriciate it alot. Thanks!

  9. I just recently bought a 96 Coach edition and wanted to upgrade the wheels on it. I was thinking about putting 18's on it. It has the Enkei 15's on it now which is standard for coach edition. Many people told me not to upgrade as my speedo, odometer and ride will be greatly affected. What problems will i encounter if i go through with it? or should i just leave it?   10. I have a similar problem with brian. In my 96 ES300's manual says to use 87 as MINIMUM, but 91 is recomennded for better performance. When i first bought it the ES I used 87, and i got VERY good gas mileage. But recently my check engine went on, and i took it to the dealers and he said simply to put 91 in it from now on, which i did, the problem is that i have notice a performance increase, BUT my MPG has gone way down. The car is way more responsive now with the 91, but my MPG's went too far down and its cutting deep into my pockets, So i dont know if i should switch back to 87. wat to do?
  11. I have a couple questions to all the knowledgeable ES300 owners. I just recently bought a 96 ES300 Coach Edition, pearl white on tan leather. I love this car, but a couple minor things went wrong and i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix them. First thing is the ECT button. The light inside the ECT button went out, i was trying to figure out how to open it up but didnt want to break anything so i left it, how would i go about fixing that? Second is the cupholders. About a week after i had the car the cupholders decided not to retract in and out as they are supposed to. There is a small platic piece under it that broke. I was wondering if anyone knew how to take the whole cupholders out so i can just temporarily super glue the piece back on. I would greatly appreciate the help, thanks! Also where can i find sites about body kits for this car? I only found one and they have no prices. Thanks!
