  1. $33,000 for a 2003? I know it has low miles but thats still way to much. I think for that price you can get a 2005 now. Dont know..I havent done my research in a while so dont hold me to this

Might as well add another $10k and get 2006 :whistles:

I take that back...they ARE going for about $33k+....

looks like they dont depreciate as much as you think....the GS has ALWAYS kept its value.

Dealers around here in DC MD are still selling it for ABOVE bluebook value in some cases...I have 98 GS and most people think its a 2002 etc...the 98-2005 looks very modern and people still love the look. Not to mention the reliabilty of the GS...just remarkable

    98-99 GS's with 100k sell for around 14-16k around here..blue book is about 12k

  2. In the mornings when I start driving, when I step on the break, the break light comes on then goes off when I let go of the brakes.

For every 10 times I break, I would say the break light comes on 4-5 times.

This only happens in the mornings....never during the day or any other time.

Breaks are only 2 years old....still breaks very well and no sign of wear and tear on them...

    Any ideas????

  3. SWO is right. My sister has a 2006 BMW 3 series and her brakes are very different. One soft touch on the brakes and the car brakes. She drove my car one day and said you need new brakes..lol She said the same thing you did...she has to press the brakes down to far to stop. Then I said, you need to get used to them..my brakes are fine.

  4. What do you guys think about 3m swirl remover?

My swirls keep coming back and its because everytime I wash the car, the "filling/filler" (whatever) washes off. No car wash..hand wash. Careful handwash I might add.

So there is really no way of getting rid of swirls permanently correct? Just have to keep using swirl remover....???

  5. 98 gs300

When I step on the gas real hard to gun the car, the car growls kinda loud as if I had a special exhaust installed or something. I checked the muffler and exhaust and there no signs of holes or anything.

You can only hear this growl when you floor it....after it shifts to next gear, its ok... I dont remember it being this loud before. What else should I look for?

  6. Anyone seen the new S class MB? Simply beautiful...

NEW LS 460 is bad to...heard there is L version where the seats in the back actually recline...wonder how much that will run...

I hear MB has stepped up their game since so many customers have had problems in the past with their cars...everyone at my job who has a MB complains...some even have 2006 models like the CLS and have taken it to shop already!!!!

with all the new technology they put in cars....Al Bundy said it best "Just more stuff to break"...lol

  7. Sometimes I read the replies to peoples questions and the rude sarcasm really annoys me....its really not necessary...I understand that people dont search the forums for answers sometimes but there are people who actually do search and just might be typing the wrong keywords....they give up, and decide to post the topic..

Things like "WELL if you would have searched the forums!" etc. shouldnt be tolerated here.

This isnt geared toward anyone but every now and then I see this and it *BLEEP*es me off...

    Sorry for not being perfect!

  8. No idea what lower control arm costs but I had my upper control arm replaced with a used part for 350....250 part, 100 labor. New control arm from dealer $475!!!!!!

If you want to go used..check out this site www.car-part.com

I just ran a search and a used lower control arm for 98 gs300 had a high price of 150 and low price of 75...call, do your research

$475 for a piece of 5 pound metal UGH!

  9. Check www.kbb.com for the book value.

    12k for 98 with 112 thousand miles..wow

I was gonna ask 13k for 98 GS300 with 81,000 miles...guess ill be asking for more now...The GS seems to sell for more then what bluebook says..in MD and DC anyways...

ive seen lots of GS's with high miles still selling for 13,000+

  10. great! because i checked around here in md/dc...one dealer was 250, another was 270, another one was 292!!!

ive put this off for a long time..but its getting frustrating....everytime i open the door for someone, when we get out, i have to walk to the other side to lock the door :censored:

labor will be 120ish at my local mechanic...if it wasnt so damn cold out here..id try to do it myself..im sure its not hard...i changed my door lock on my 93 accord before...
