  1. I also noticed that production date: 10/1994 to 7/1995 use 8 mm. 8/1995 to 6/1997 use 11 mm. Very interesting...anybody know why?
  2. I have read several post where LS owners purchased Iridium plugs. Are platinum plugs oaky to use? I purchased 8 Denso platinum plugs. Denso PK20R8 ND I also saw a parts listing of spark plug seals. Do I need to buy 8 of them also?
  3. Are all Lexus dealers interconnected? meaning, can I go to Lexus dealer A in Maryland and get a print out of the maintenance/repairs done Lexus Dealer B in another state? Thanks
  4. It was fitment 3. Size 24. there seems to be more space in the LS battery tray, but the other top sided batteries appeared too big. I had a $9 core fee which I received back when I returned my battery.
  5. To answer this question: ---- Please let us know what you bought, an idea of the cose, where you bought it...and how long the smaller replacement lasted in your LS400 lasted. Thanks. ----- I ended up buying a Kirkland Signature battery with 640 CCA for $61+tax from Costco. I saw an Optima red top for $138+tax. The Kirkland comes with 3 year 100% refund and a 84 month refund schedule, 5% at 84 months. The battery size guide mentioned that stock LS400 battery is 585 CCA. I went to NAPA and Advanced auto. Store brand Batteries were around $90 with 2 year warranty. The former Energizer battery's age is unknown b/c the pervious owner bought it. The battery had some corrosion on the top posts. I decided that $61 was worth the security of not having a dead battery. I feel safe for the next 5 years.
  6. I'm going to CostCo this afternoon and checking out the price on a new Optima battery.
  7. How can you tell if the engine and transmission mounts are bad? I don't feel any jerking when I start from a stop. How many mounts are there? (2) two engine and (1) one transmission? Don't ignition coils go bad with age? Mine is 14 years old.
  8. oldskewel. I wish I had seen your ad before I ordered my parts.
  9. I bought it on february 15, 2009 and it had 117K miles on it. The first owner had it from 1995 to 1998. The next owner bought it certified pre-owned in July 98 and sold it to me in 2009. It had new tires on it (but only H rated) Bridgestone potenza Grid. It appears that the previous owner did not do any maintenance work on it (other than oil changes, I assume). as soon as I bought it, I changed the oil with toyota oil filter and synthetic fluid. There are no leaks under the hood... It's my first Lexus, my first japanese car as a matter of fact. As I have mentioned before, I want to replace everything so that I have a good baseline with the car. After this massive tune up, I hope that I can go another 90K without much problems. This car does have the stalling out problem at the toll booths or off the exit ramp. The car will stall out unless I have the A/C running. Also has the driver's side seat belt tensioner is not working. The heated seat buttons work, but seats do not heat up. The car is very quiet...smoooth ride. Rides much better than my friend's 2009 Corolla she bought for $17,500. >:^)

  16. How many cabin air filters on the 1995 LS? Is the one behind the glove compartment/CD changer the only one? Is the color supposed to be gray or white when new?
