  1. Over the past few weeks there have been 3 separate times I exited the vehicle and hit the door lock button on the door handle, heard a long beep & the doors would not lock. I checked to make sure the gear was in park, that all the doors were properly closed and my lights were off (they're always on the automatic setting). Any idea why? <_<

Also, the doors would lock when I used the key fob.

  2. I guess it really depends on how long you intend to keep your vehicle. Obviously 94 octane is better than 91 octane, but is paying more worth it? For me, no. I usually sell whatever car i'm driving when it reaches 150,000-200,000 km. So spending more at the pump won't end up benefitting me, but the next few owners down the road ;-).

I always fill up 91, never more or less.

By the way, over here only Sunoco has 94 octane.

  3. Adding more truth to my reasoning / experience >>>

I went to an independant tire shop this morning. Wanted them to inspect the vibration I have been getting at hwy speeds. They pulled off the very same tire (driver/front) that I had replaced by the Lexus dealership a few months back. Removed the tire from the rim & determined that the rim was badly damaged, even brought me into the service centre & showed me how messed up it really is. *I clearly asked the Lexus dealership a few months ago upon them changing the tire to check & see if there was any rim damage. The service advisor assured me there was none. Not too convinced with his answer I approached the Lexus mechanic himself and he also said there was no damage, rim is fine.

I'm pi**ed, now I have to fork out more money to get a new rim. Haven't had too much 'positive' experience with dealerships in my lifetime. I definately know i'm not alone :censored:

  4. 350, don't need to rotate tires, staggered.

250 AWD, rotation needs to be done every 16,000km as per my local dealership.

I've also got issues with vibration at hwy speeds, but not severe, more mild. Getting my tire re-balanced to see if it'll solve the problem. At the same time i'll get 'em to check & see if there is any rim damage.

ROADS GOT CALLED THIS WINTER HERE TOO, ugh. City is always crying, "we have no $$$".

  5. You're gonna kill me. I'm the one that posted regarding this but I can't remember what sequence of buttons to press on the FOB. The Lexus service advisor told me how to. Maybe give your local dealership a call.

P.S. I got 17% all around, wife gave me crap for spending money on tints, but they just don't understand :-)

  6. Oh how i'm itching to respond to this, but since you're a gold management member i'll keep my words to myself ;)

No wait, I atleast have to say I have been promised offers of coverage out of warranty by sales people only to find out later that the sales man was just trying to make a quick buck & provide me with faulty information. & Of course if you don't have anything in writing it's your word against theirs.

Just a few weeks ago I went to my local Lexus dealership & inquired about having all doors programmed to open upon touching just the driver's side door handle, the service manager said, "that'll be $60 to program". I decided to pass of course. Then I went to another Lexus dealership out in the burbs and inquired, they said, "no problem sir, we'll look after it". Cost? $0

I just don't like being lied to, getting inconsistant service or being treated like less than family after completion of a sale. Your experience is yours, mine is mine. Every dealership operates differently. & Yes, I only bring my IS for service to that dealer in the suburbs now because of their outstanding service.

  7. I am a speed junkie & I for one am pretty happy with the power of my IS250 AWD, especially with the ECT Power mode on. No complaints with anything under the hood.

Sure a 350 or F would be alot nicer to have & I do look at them with admiration when I see them pass me by, but man do those cost alot more

  8. I'm guessing I may have a damaged rim because I had a tire replaced recently due to damage from going over a pothole. After the tire was replaced the mechanic said there was no rim damage (but he wasn't very convincing). Mind you the vibration was gone for a few days, then I started feeling it again. I think he either didn't balance the rim properly or the rim is damaged

  9. I guess it's all the salting of the roads due to the snow fall. Roads are in terrible condition here too, & city is always crying 'we have no money to keep up with maintainance'. Mind you I have heard of a few cases where people took action & got the city to reimburse them for the cost of replacing damaged tires/rims. Should've done this myself.

HATE WINTER. I can't imagine how good you guys have it down south. Do you even know what rustproofing is? :) I would've totally got an IS350 if it wasn't for this darn winter.
