  1. If you have odd sounding exaust, its quite possible one of the CAT's is clogged. That bad metal grinding sound coming from your timing cover is most likely a bad bearing on the one of the idlers or the water pump, but if it is serious enough of a problem to cause as engine vibration, you better get that checked before it snaps your timing belt and you lose your engine. Someone will have to explain why an exhaust or a motor mount issue would cause an problem when the engine is warmed up and not when it is cold. One would think the viabration could be the result of poor idling as any inbalance in the engine smoothness would cause some shudder thought the entire vehicle. Maybe that explians the odd exhaust noise, the normal idle pulsation coming out is being interupted. Just a thought, hope it helps.........
  2. I have a little bit of an issue. My Girlfriends Rx300 has had a consistent problem with the DS window breaking loose from the supports that are supposed to be attached, aka glued, to it and then bolted to the regulator rail sliding inserts. I have tried re-gluing it to the those "sashes" to only have them break loose from the glass again in no time. The problem is that the sashes have become gunked up so bad that they cannot be relied on anymore. Oh that and the fact that the damned sashes are impossible to find online, are NOT refered to in any way in the repair/ service manual, and do not appear to come with any regulator I have found for sale online. Does anyone have any insight to this issue? Dave
  3. Aaron, Except for the brake issue it seems that your problem seems to be linked to one bank of cylinders, almost negating the possibility of an aggregate engine problem; ie a bad Mass Airflow sensor problem should by all rights affect the entire engine and not just one bank. Have you checked the VVTi actuator for that banks intake cam (especially since that is the very first code on your list)? I can imagine a bad actuator can create all sorts of havoc on the engine. What about the upstream O2 sensor, and possibly even the lower manifold gasket on that side of the engine? Also I'd check your timing belt as well, if that thing breaks your engine is toast. Just FYI on the MAF sensor, if you get a lean on BOTH banks and you swear you've replaced both upstream o2 sensors and it did nothing to fix the issue, REPLACE do not clean that MAF sensor and I bet the problem goes away. Good luck with your TS'ing Experinced 1MZFE owner/ troubleshooter - horrible horrible engine!
