  1. 1999 ES 300 Lexus 93,000 miles I purchased in Jan 08 from a dealer in Miami. I haven't had many problems from it until last night. Brand new tires, new Struts, new Battery, new, Starter. Latest issue: I was driving home from work last night and my ABS lights started to flash along with the battery light. As I stopped at a red light I shut my car off and tried to restart it. It fired right up, but would not shift out of gear(park). The dash lights were out, I couldnt move my seat, roll up my windows. or open my trunk. When I checked the fuse box in the hood... the ALT fuse was completely fryed (melted), to the point where I cant even remove it. I called my mechanic and he came and removed the gear shift cable in order to get it outta of gear, and then was towed to his house for futher inspection. I have no clue whats going on. Does this sound like an Electrical problem (Wiring)?? or an Mechanical problem (Trainmission)?? Any advice?
  2. My car will not shift into any gear. I was driving down the road last night and stopped at a light... shifted my car into park, turned it off and then started it right back up. After that it would not move out of park. The only thing I nocticed odd was the ALT fuse in the hood was completely fried! Melted to the ponit where I couldnt even remove the fuse. Do you have a clue to what u think is wrong here? What would cause the ALT fuse to burn out like this, and will that fuse cause the car to completey lock up like this?
