  1. I'm getting an estimate tomorrow on a complete speaker and double amp make-over. The guy says he has done it before with the SC and it works perfect. What I don't understand is he says that he will still have to use my Nakamichi amp in some way. Not really understanding this, as that amp is way screwed. So he will some how be using my Nak amp, a 4 channel Inifinity Kappa amp (w/ 4 new Kappa 4''ers) and a separate Infinity mono amp to run the new 10" Infinity Kappa sub. He has been doing this stuff for 25+ years and I hear he's one of the best in Houston. He was running late for something today and said he will explain how everything will work tomorrow. Has anyone ever heard of anyone using the malfunctioning oem amp along with two other new ones. Strange.
  2. Is the Nakamichi subwoofer on the 1993 SC400 an 8" or 10"? Thx.
  3. Go ahead and have it rebuilt at FCSR (Factory Car Stereo Repair) in FL. Then you can let me know how they did. That way if they screw it up, it's your money lost.. :D I can already tell you to not go with ATE in TN. I found them on Ebay. While the amp is working again, the sound quality is just plain Jane. Real regular. Gutless... I hate them!! :(
  4. I just received my Nakamichi amp back from being rebuilt at a company called ATE (Auto & Truck Electronics) out of TN. They talked a good game, but the sound quality now is nothing like the factory used to be. It lacks richness and the volume is not nearly as powerful as it was. This is frustrating! I'm thinking about trying another company FCSR (Factory Car Stereo Repair) out of FL. I just don't want to continue throwing more money down the hole on something that won't get me back to that rich, powerful sound I once had. It's really hard to believe that some company hasn't made an easy plug and play replacement amp for our set-up. Every shop I talk to wants to rip everything out and start fresh. I'm sure they do... lol $$$ So, has anyone in here used FCSR?? Thx
