  1. Hi gang, Great website. Incredibly useful info throughout. I am gettting ready to have a total paint job on my 93 SC400. I have a problem with the Door Window Molding Black Vertical Piece at the rear of the window. As with other SC's I have seen, with age the Black on these start to fail. Very expensive to replace with a new part as it is just the part you see of the entire one piece Outer Window Molding which runs about $700 per door. Not sure what the finish on this vertical panel is. Looks like chrome under the finish, so I don't think painting it as an option. Anybody out there that has refinished these pieces? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. What a gorgiuous paint job - looks great. Quick question. The black trim vertical piece, to the rear of the door window. Were they able to paint this, or did you put in an entire new door window trim piece? Thanks
  3. I'll also take the timing belt/with pulleys, if they are alsmost new as stated for $70.
  4. I'll take the center Air Vent with trim for $20 if it's available and not cracked when you take it out - in picture it looks uncracked. I live in Tampa, so I could pick it up and save us both the hassle of shipping. Think you have to go take out the glove box (disconnnect the pasenger side airbag) to get it out (attached to the center wood trim panel). Really only need the outside balck trim piece but it will just be easier to take out the vent with trim. Thanks, Greg 850-291-1608
  5. I haven't purchased one, but when I was checking around, I saw www.autocomputerexchange.com had a rebuilt one for $295. Thanks for the website. I always need to know my options before a visit to a $$Lexus$$ dealer. They are the only ones who will tackle the "electronics", and in Canada I think they double the prices! www.autocomputerexchange.com is a great place for an ECM. Replaced mine a year ago through them. You send them yours, and they send you a rebuilt. The $295 includes next day shipping from them. You can actually install it yourself (just unplug the old and plag in the new). It is located under the carpet where the passenger puts their feet - need to rmove the trim panel under the clove box - will save you big money ($1,200 for ECM and another $300 for labor). And if you need tech support these guys are on the phone, walking you through it. Better waranty than a dealership. Cheers, Greg
  6. Thanks, Great Link. Greg
  7. Anyone know how to remove the dashboard AC vents. Need to replace the plactic moldings (cracked). Thanks, Greg
  8. Hi gang, What is the "rubber boot" called that the electrical wiring that runs from the chassis into the doors called? How difficult is it to replace, mine are toast? Do you have to disconnect every individual wire and tread it through, or is there one "universal" connector in the door or engine compartment where all wires run to? Thanks
