  1. I haven't purchased one, but when I was checking around, I saw www.autocomputerexchange.com had a rebuilt one for $295. Thanks for the website. I always need to know my options before a visit to a $$Lexus$$ dealer. They are the only ones who will tackle the "electronics", and in Canada I think they double the prices!
  2. Jdish there is nothing like a Lexus! Anyway use the "Search Forum" ( bottom leftof the main page) and type in Manuals. You will find a number of suggestions in the Forums! Good luck
  3. Lets try this again! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ic=4237&hl= If the link does not work, SEARCH for the word Tilt, and you will find a post from MZLEXUS titled "Problems with Tilt Steeering Wheel, Help! The link is in the Post and seems to work. P.S. my son used a beer bottle cap!
  4. I had the same problem last year, and found this great answer... with pictures. It took my son about 20 minutes to fix the problem.. Good Luck http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ic=4237&hl=
  5. Try the Toyota Technical Information System. I subscribed for a day of access to the system for a small fee and was able to download all the step by step instructions along with the diagrams I needed. I hope you'll find what you're looking for here: https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/...o.toyota.com%2F Regards, TC711
  6. It looks like I may have to replace my ECM, any idea on cost? Thanks
  7. pull the codes from the a/c ecu. press and hold the auto and recirculate air switches. turn ignition on. all indicators will flash 4 times. tone will sound when indicators flash. press and release the off switch. read codes at temp display.if tone is heard when code is displayed it is a current problem. if no tone then it is a past problem or mechanical problem. if you cant even get the ecu to self diagnostic, perhaps it is bad or not powering up. THanks Xaine. I tried the process and can get the indicators to flash, but once I hit the Off switch, it terminates the process. If I do not hit the Off switch only the Fresh Air indicator flashes ( no tone) and stays there.
  8. My Air quit working at the end of last summer. It's not the fuse as in other discussions as the lighter still works, so I had some diagnotics run and the results are: Refrigerant level appears fully charged Check why compressor not cutting in. Trace back to compressor clutch magnetic relay. Power going to the relay but no ground request from ECM module to relay to allow compressor clutch to magnitize. Diagnotics require replacing the ECM and retesting system. Before I take this to Lexus what can I expect to pay to replace the ECM? I find parts in Canada re quite inflated and have ordered from the US, any suggestions where to order a new ECM? Thanks for any help or suggestions B)

  11. I'm a new owner of my "dream car" a 95 SC400! I need to change the bulbs in the footlight, Interior light and Door courtesy light, but the Owner's Manual says to take it to a dealer! This cannot be that difficult, but don't want to wreck anything, so any information would be appreciated. Hope it is as easy as popping off the cover! :)
