  1. Was Arnott able to explain that at all? That was the vendor I was looking to.
  2. In reference to this problem, http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=39845, are the standard shocks direct replacements for the air suspension shocks? Has anyone gone this route successfully?
  3. I have had some trouble recently with a left rear air shock dropping on my 92 LS400. Some days, it would drop, others not. As the car warmed up, in about 20 seconds it would pump back up. Intermittent problem, at best. The other day, I had the typical hiss as the air shocks relieved when I parked at work. When I came out, the left front was fully collapsed. I got the car home, but it is undrivable. Searching through the service manuals, I am assuming I lost the seal on that one shock. I am not finding, however, a quick and easy functional test of the compressor. The reason I am looking there is that I was pretty sure the front and rear were separate systems, and that if one went, the other would hold. Could be wrong. In any event, the left rear will not come up now. My question is whether there is one simple leak in the system that kills it for the other shocks or what? Anyone with any quick functional tests of the system? I am not sure I am not looking at more than one failure here. Thanks!
  4. I just had to use this method on my LS400 today and it worked perfectly!!! Thanks for the tip!!
  5. Can you cycle the air conditioner on and off and change the sound?
  6. I measured my rotors with a dial indicator and they are out of spec by .0020. At 60 mph, if you romp on the brakes, it will throw you out of the car. Rotors must be true to eliminate that vibration. Sorry it's not more complicated than that and that was also my experience years ago in the brake repair business. Both front and rear rotors on this model mount the same way. The Lexus service manuals are also an excellent source of information and I have saved far more than the $200 cost many times. Good luck!
  7. I have the same issue on my 92 LS400. I just priced new front rotors at NAPA for $40.00 retail each, about $20.00 each if you get the garage price. There are two screws which mount the rotor to the hub and typically neanderthals beat them up. Have access to an impact driver or a set of easy outs when you start. You have to unbolt the caliper and pad assembly to remove, but this is easily a 30 minute a side do-it-yourselfer.
  8. I cannot speak as well to the radio LCD as I can the climate control LCD on my 92 ls400. Search "Jim Walker". Although I did not use his fix exactly and he was very prompt and helpful in answering my questions, I bought the LCD for the temp on Ebay and had an electronics guy at work solder it. Took him just a few minutes. Pulling the units out is well documented. Good luck!
