  1. Just had this same problem with my wifes Lexus. Don't keep trying to shift the gears trying to get it to move, by doing so you may damage the gears. My wifes threw two codes before this happened and didn't tell me about them until she rolled up into the driveway and the car wouldn't move anymore. It turned out to be a costly fix at $3400.00 take it in and get it checked before anymore damage occurs. Zeke
  2. I can't believe that nobody has any input on this, all I'm asking is, what does the dash look like on a 2001 RX300 without a navigation unit, I have searched the internet through and could'nt find a definitive answer. Does the 2001 RX300 come with a touch screen for models without the gps nav unit and the radio only...?
  3. Hi Brian, Could you please send me a copy of the wiring diagrams for a 2001 Lexus RX300, I need the ones for the nav unit, stereo and the amp, it would be greatly appreciated. zmckenna43@yahoo.com Thanks Zeke
  4. Sorry, I guess I should have described the situation a little better. I get an error message reading cannot read disc, when there is a disc inserted in the DVD unit.
  5. Nobody???? Nobody has had a similar issue to this...?
  6. Ok, First off I have a 2001 Lexus RX300 with a Gen 2/3 Nav Unit.(Let me rephrase that, My Wife Does) Anyhow my problem is that my 10 year old son took the Nav disc out of the unit and tried to watch a movie in the car, extremely bad idea...! Not only did it not work, it messed up the unit, or so I think. To make matters worse, my 16 year tried to help him cover his tracks by helping him fix it, another extremely bad idea. My 16 year old got the great idea from an online forum to download a copy of a newer version DVD 5.1, I think, he destroyed the evidence, anyhow he tried to install the copy hoping that would fix everything, needless to say it didn't. I have searched for days now with no real definitive answers on a fix, so I am coming here for an answer, hopefully. Now for the questions, is there a fix and how do I fix this issue without involving great expense of taking it to the dealer...? I finally just got the radio fixed at a cost of $350.00 so any help in avoiding another costly expense would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance Z McKenna
  7. Ok, I'm finally back in So Cal, for a while I hope and now that I'm back I am readdressing this issue with the stereo in our 2001 RX300. Yesterday I looked at every fuse and found NONE burned, then I took out the stereo from the dash and all looked fine, wires intact, I even called the dealer to see if it might have something to do with the anti-theft built into the stereo, not that either, they said if the stereo comes on when you hit the audio button and the antenna goes up it's not the anti-theft. The problem I am having is when you try to adjust the sound on the screen nothing nada zilch, so that leads me to believe that it has something to do with either the stereo itself or the amp. I looked at the diagram for my car that I found here on this site, the stereo is where it should be as well as the speakers and I even found a subwoofer under the front passenger seat. But for the life of me I can't find the placement of the amp. Does anyone know or have any idea where it might be and also once again what they think the problem might be. If you can help at all, pleeeeeeease help, the wifes been on me about since I got back, I know the weather has been nice here in So Cal lately, but it's no fun sleeping in the dog house. Thanks Zeke
  8. I raised the volume on the nav and I can hear it fine, but still no sound. When I go to the sound screen and try to adjust anything at all, the adjustments don't move at all, no treble, no bass, I can't even adjust it side to side. Zeke
  9. This has probably been beat to death on here, I've searched throughout and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. I have a 2001 Lexus RX300 with a radio that does'nt work. The navigation works fine and so do the voice commands on it, but the radio does'nt. I have checked the fuses, done a quick check of the wiring and nothing looks burnt or worn. I am at wits end and any input would be very very helpful because my wife getting very tired of my singing. Thanks in advance Zeke
