hmm, lets see... something about 10 US $ for 1L. All these prices are funny when I compare them to US prices...in US. It really looks like everything there is cheaper...especially gas...heh, here we have 1$ for 1L of gas... isnt this funny??? :( grrrrrrr So funny I could cry... I can also buy castrol TXT softec 5w30 but this oil is more expensive and I saw how it looked like when it was taken out of the car... black *BLEEP*...So i really do want to avoid using this oil in my LS. There is also 5w30 valvoline synpower... what do you think about this oil??? Today I found a mobil1 sticker which seems to be from my LS - and it says 5w50 mobil1 - so it should be ok... , or should I use synpower??? Did you say that 5w50 can decrease my gas mileage??? UPS, my gas mileage is awful low...260miles per tank in the city... I hope this is because my o2 sensors are bad...not because of oil...I did full tune-up, only sensors left to change...

Yes, it is popular but only U in US or Canada have mobil1 5w30. There is no Mobil1 Oil in Poland. I have to stick with 5W50 Mobil1. What do you think about this?? Will this do the job??? Come on guys!!!!!!!! 47 views and only ONE reply??? Something must be wrong....

Hello guys, I was reading a lot of engine oil posts and now I have no idea which one should I choose. Please do not send me to the other post to read, because I red them all yesterday + everything on planetsoarer.com First of all I would like to say that I live in Poland. My climate is different than yours in US. In winter we have snow and sometimes -20 Celsius degrees (most of the time 0 and below). In summer we have sun, rain, sun, sometimes is hot sometimes is cold - inbetween 15-38 Celsius degrees so U can see that I have all weather conditions... My LS in an import from US. (1990 model). Most of U uses 5W30 Mobil1. I have a sticker on my oil cup with 5W30 also but this oil is really hard to find in Poland or almost impossible. I saw somewhere castrol TXT softec 5W30 but I really dont want it. At the moment I have no idea what kind of oil is in my car, previous owner also has no idea. He had this car only for 700 miles...and than he bought SL55 AMG.... My mileage is 159k miles. So my "quick question" is: What kind of oil and which one should I use???Synthetic, MIneral??? Is this possible to USE Valvoline VR1 racing oil 5w50??? I have no leaks at present. I have to choose only between Castrol (softec TXT, GTX magnatec - but no 5w30...), MOBIL1 (but there is no 5w30/ 10w30), Valvoline ( syn power 5w30, VR1 5w50???) I really need help with this and appreciate any aswer. Thanks

oh man, I had the same thing. I disconected negative lead and did the job 3 weaks ago. When I started my car everything worked fine but... but my radio didnt. "SEC" code is needed now and At present my radio is like non working replica :) Unfortunatelly I didnt know about this code and I didint have it. Previous owner also had no idea about it. The only owner who knows about this code is now somewhere in Canada. I'm from Poland so he is out of my range... Hopefully my LEXUS dealer is trying to get my code for me...uffff

yes it rained. Sometimes when I turn the vol. max it's very uiet, but sometimes it's trying to go louder... louder but not max vol. I dont know how to name this. Yesterday mornig when I turned on the radio it worked fine, but 3 hours later it wasn't. Like I said this is happenig for 3 days now. here in Poland It rains very often. Ealier everything was fine. What is wrong??? Oh. One day the radio had this problem - quiet than louder, than quiet and then it slowly started to work fine... for a while... when I hit the brake pedal (to stop) , the radio went quiet again. I dont want to go to the Lexus Dealer, I dont want to spend a lot of money for some little thing which is broken. Please help me to locate this problem myself. Thank for any answers again!!!!

Thanks guys. Sorry for my mistakes in writing. Yeah. On lextreme I saw photos of a whole system changes. Instead 2 cats after manifolds I saw mega big pipes... and there was no Y pipes. All standalone pipes on both sides. Everything is cool but I dont want turbos...heh, I just want to cut of these resonators, get rid of them, replace them with pipes, and the last mufflers I want to replace with for example borla mufflers or sth similar. Here in poland we have very nice muffler maker, I'm sure he will handle with thesepipes. And about gaining HP... I was thinking about 20HP or smth like this number not a 100HP... what do you think???? Oh..one more. With my radio smth is wrong. When I turn it to the max volume, only then I can here some music but very quiet...what can be wrong. 3 days ago it worked perfectly... Help...

Hello, I was thinking about changing exhaust system in my 1990 LS. As you know, after exhaust manifold there are 2 cats, than Y pipe to 1 "middle muffler" than another Y pipe to 2 "semi middle mufflers" and at the and 2 rear muflers. I was thinking about replacing those semi middle mufflers with pipes and rear mufflers with mufflers with higher flow. I would Like to leave these Y pipes as they are now... Is there any chance I gain some HP?????? I also noticed, that my LS (US version) is more quiet than european. of course this is better, but i would like to hear this V8 a little bit more. Maybe after replacing exhaust I will by Injen intake, I heared it fits well in 1990, isnt it? What do you think????.Thanks for any answers!!!

Hi, I would like to change some bulbs inside the dashboard (or replace bulbs with leds) On lexls.com I saw that ignition illumnation has 1 bulb (or led "74 type") but what with the rest of the lights??? I mean what with radio buttons, what with climate control buttons and whole backlight inside the dashboard???? What with instrument cluster backlight, is this always white or can I change this rpm speedo ect into blue?? I would like to replace these green bulbs everywhere for blue ones. Could you tell me what kind and how many bulbs do I have in my dashboard??? BTW: How can I take off my instrument cluster (I mean this black frame outside) - there are 3 screws , when I remove them, frame won't move. I saw here on forum that there are some clips or smth, but I don know how to take it off without breaking anything. Please help.

Hey, I'm thinking about LPG conversion in my LS. I was wondering if you could help me about it. See, here in Poland gas costs 1$ per 1 littre. It's quite expensive especially when I have smth wrong with fuel consumption. That's why I think about conversion. I dont know about LPG convs. in your country,but here we have two types. Probably I dont have to write about them, but I didn't here about this mod. in the USA so...: Simple (cheaper) - LPG nozzle is in itake hose, before throttle body. It sometimes causes backfire so there must be a lot of protection.(2 protections in intake hose, sometimes for better prot. 8 special valves are installed in intake manifold) Direct LPG injection - very expensive (I would say a half value of my LS which is 1990). Of course I'm thinking about this cheaper one. Do you have there in the USA this kind of modifications???? And what do you think about this, do you think this is safe (not for me but for engine)???? I have 90 LS. NOW I think I know where it is. Unfortunatelly I don't know how to change it. Do I have to unscrew it, pull or what?? It stucked in this rubber seal, so one is sure...I won't do this by hand...:) Please help. And if I change it, do I have to change that rubber seal?? oh, one more. What do you think about STP complete fuel system cleaner (i think this is a silver bottle), is it OK??? or maybe should I use syn power????

heh, yeah, I'm sure, I'm filling tank as long as I cen see gas on the ground... Could you tell me, how this low level light works? I heard that it goes off when gas level is very low...Am I right?? If PS pump is leaking or just startet not a long time ago, you don't have to change the alternator, of course you should check it. I had the same problem and I only changed pump with another used one in good condition. Now i have to think about changing rack and pinion. Its leaking too. Probably I will leave it as it is now adding sometimes some PS fluid. The costs are too big. :C At present, the alternator is ok, it was cleaned and checked, pump isn't leaking and I can sleep well...

Hi I'm looking for Injen intake photos for LS400...I want to buy it, the problem is I dont know what it looks like and how it sounds like :D And one more guestion: When your tank is full, where is the needle? My isn't on the top,it's in the middle between full and 3/4... is this normal?

I have also few different questions... 1) Is there in your market any intake for 90' LS (injen ro sth) 2) any exhaust???? borla or sth My mufflers are in bad shape...especially tips... intake is in perfect condition, but i would like to hear my engine... I saw somewhere an intake for 92 or 94... are they different to 90'?????I thought this is the same engine??? Do you have in your cars tthis kind of modifications???

Actually they can take my licence back...and I will have to do it once more...Of course in many cases its a very high ticket. I told you, that I can test my LS at the airport so you won't see me in TV beeing catched.... About those honda guys...here in Poland cops are trying to stop especially speeding luxury cars...you see, those people have anough money to pay them for and get no ticket. This is the way of thinking here...unfortunaltelly...

Guys, just relax!!!!! I do know that my lovely LS is a luxury car, I dont even think about racing. Believe me!!! I only want to "feel the power" of this car, just once...I told ya that here in Poland we have 1 litre of fuel for 1$...speeding is too expensive...especially with 4.0 V8.... I live near the navy airport so I have opportunity to test it.. I love burnouts, but I will never try...this car wasnt desingned for this...and this isn't also a "ten second car", I know this and I won't do nothing bad to it. I would like to know about this O/D, so this should be ON, yes? The day after tomorrow I'm taking my car to the mechanic to have my P/S and timing belt repalced, tune-up ect, than I will test it. I would like to know then sth about reaching this max speed... Regards... PS. Silvermate, try to understand me, why r u so agry with it...I'm taking care of my LS every day... its like new... :D

Dont worry, it was just for a moment...nothing bad happen, I slowed down, because like I said I was afraid that sth is wrong...you see, the problem is that if I go with O\D on the max speed is only 190 (I think)because LS goes to this 190 very slow. really I am the new lexus user, btw this is my first car with automatic transmission I I dont know many things. So now I understand that I should go with O/D on (button is inside the shifter and there is no orange light on on my dashboard - under speedometer) yes??? and then i will reach the top speed???? this is strange for me...(190...)hmmmm

Hey guys. Could someone tell me when should my 90' LS shift to the 4th gear when I floor it. Of course I dont ask about top speed because I saw the post somewhere ealier. Now it doesnt matter. The problem is that when I was getting nearly 220 km/h I had 6300rpm (unfortunatelly redline) and I was scared. I had O/D off and POWER off. Is this normal????? I dont want to reach 250 with 8000rpm. Is sth wrong, or this is because I didnt turn on the power...I couldnt go faster so I cant tell ya that one second later probably it would shift ...I was scared that sth is wrong with my transmission or maybe there is something I dont know?????? PS. I know i shouldn go so fast...I know, I know...this is dangerous... :D

90 LS 157000 miles. Sorry silvermate...I know that my questions are stupid and boring. I know!!!! But you have to forgive me... BTW, I will replace all those things but I have one more question: what exacly is: distributor cap and rotor... like I said I have some problems with english language, so I dont know all those names ect. Engine starts well, i think so. But I have to find out where is this leak. Probably replacing seals will be enough, probably not...(new PS pump costs here 800$) It's a bit expensive... probably I will buy used one in good condition...Unfortunatelly fuel is more expensive...with these 261 miles per tank:) Could somebody tell me what should I replace to reduce this consumpcion???? 1)sparks 2)oils and filters What else should I change????? Any Ideas???

Everything is wet downside, so I cant tell ya where exacly is. But this is a red fluid. I hope there is no oil leak from engine. What else...ohh, the most important for me is average mileage on a full tank in the city (slow driving max 60mph). And about my mileage...I had 261 miles, when this low level light went on. So I filled up my tank. And ealier, a week ago, when i bought it I filled tank to max. level...(I had fuel on my shoes...:D) and the result of this is 261 miles....

You see...200 miles on 1/2 of tank. Not 260 on 1/1.:D . I use my rather in the city and try to go slow(I mean max 60mph) or try to do so. The problem is I unfortunatelly see, that "fuel marker is going down... at my sight....) Ouch....it hurts, especially when I go slowly. Something I have to do...even if I have to reduce my fuel consumpcion to hmmm 330 miles on a tank. Maybe for you this is funny, but when I recalculate it to kilometres this is a very good score. Before LS I had toyota Vitz (Yaris) 1.0... The tank was 42 litres, and my average mileage was 450-500km. I know that ls has a biiger tank and engine, but this is new V8 and it sholdn't drink so much fuel as for example old camaro...20 litters per 60 miles is a bit big number...for me...Jesus, I have also girlfriend, I need money for her, not only for fuel....So WTF... is wrong with my car???? Guys... any ideas????? What kind of fuels do you have in US??? I have normal unleaded 95, normal 98, shell v-power 95, v power 99+, and of course diesel. Do you have something similar to this??? when I had Yaris I was using this funny racing 99+ but it gave me nothing special- no power- nothing except smooth engine vithout vibrations. What kind do you use??? What exacly mean premium...should I treat it like 95 or rather like 98 Octane fuel??? All my questions might be funny for you but trully - your world is different...probably better then my...and here evrything is different...

I'm talking about miles. I would like to cruise minimum 350 miles on a tank, not a 260miles... This is the problem....Someone ealier said that he can cruise 450...At present- this is my dream....so guys...whats wrong with my car??????
