  1. Hi everyone,

    Hope all is well.

I had the above problem a while ago, but didn’t do anything to fix it.

Nevertheless, I now have the problem where my HVAC fan / blower cuts in and out and does not constantly stay on. With the problem as described, would replacement of the part I removed and took pictures of above fix the problem?

AND, if so, where is the best place to get a good priced new replacement?

Please advise ASAP, as it’s getting hot here in NY.

    Thanks!

  2. Two front seat problems:

    1. There is some type of short with or bad connection of the front passenger heated seat switch, as the seat heats at random when the switch is in the off position. How do I test for a bad switch or to disable the switch or fuse to same?

    1. The driver’s seat lumbar support is broken, as the lumbar support bolster does not reduce/lessen when I attempt to do so. Is there any way to manually reduce/lessen same, as I find lumbar support uncomfortable, while certain family members feel otherwise? How do I test whether it is the switch or the bolster motors, etc. within the seat itself?

    Any help/guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you!

  3. The batteries on my key fob recently died and the direction I have to turn the driver’s door lock to unlock the door is very strange! In every prior car I've ever had you had to turn counter clockwise to unlock and clockwise to lock, yet on the LX470 you have to do the opposite!? Then, strange enough, I was trying to get into the truck from the passenger side door and noticed that it works the way it should: Counter clockwise to unlock and clockwise to lock. Can anyone please confirm whether or not your truck does same and why!? Strange.

  4. My 2004 LX470 has nearly 120k miles on it and 5k miles or so ago I began to hear an intermittent chirping / screeching sound coming from the front passenger foot well area when the HVAC fan / blower was on and the noise has become more frequent since, although still intermittent. Below are some pictures of the referenced area. What is going on and how can it be fixed? Thanks!

  5. I found what I believe to be the navigation system under the front passenger seat by raising the seat to its maximum height and sliding it all the way forward, shown in the first picture. It seems that the wires to the box are to the front of the seat bottom, but I am having difficulty accessing them because even if I were to slide the seat all the way back, there is a panel obstructing same. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to gain access to the area?

Otherwise, I found the strange circular vent shown in the last two pictures under the driver’s seat. Does anyone know what it is!? I know it’s not heating ducts for the rear passenger floor, as same are on the center console.

  6. Hello everyone,

    Hope all is well!

I have the following problem with my 2004 LX470:

The speaker used for navigation voice guidance and for bluetooth telephone cuts in and out and works intermittently. The sound system (the radio) is otherwise okay.

Has anyone seen this before or know of a fix for same?

    Thank you!

To my knowledge, that speaker is powered separately from the rest of the sound system speakers. That is, by the nav/head unit itself. It could be something very simple such as a loose wire connection to the speaker, a speaker coil going bad. Simple fixes. Or, something in the nav unit itself which would need some expertise to find and repair. Your dealer would probably be able to do the job by replacing the whole nav unit. Expensive. A GOOD qualified car audio repair shop would probably be able to repair it if they can get the part. e-bay is always a good place to look for parts.

Thank you for your prompt and informative reply!

Where are the cables to the navigation system - towards the front of the seat bottom or towards the back?

    Thanks again!

  7. Thank you again for this helpful information. I purchased the truck new in '04 and experienced numerous problems from the start. I saved all invoices and contacted corporate, which gave me a 7 year / 100k mile platinum extra care warranty. A service engine light, as well as a number of other issues (this one included), caused me bring the truck in to the dealer close to a month ago. About two weeks ago I was told it was ready to be picked up (all complaints fixed, supposedly), I test drove it upon arrival and the noise was still present! At this point I have not heard back from the dealer and I am attempting to gather as much information as possible on this issue. Thank you again and I wish you and yours a happy and healthy New Year ahead!

  8. Great! I wasn't too sure becuase I've read on this and other boards that the TSIB / TSB is NOT effective (or that it fixes the problem temporarily only for it to return). Good to hear that that may not be the case. How many miles did you have on your truck when the work was performed? And, was the work covered under warranty? Thanks!
