  1. I just bought a 2008 Rx350 and read on the ClubLexus forum that “corner tapping” method to bypass the navigation lockout doesn’t work on newer models or new versions of the software. I also read that there is a wire cutting method that works but those instruction were for a 2006 GS. Does anybody know if the wire cutting method works for 2008 Rx350? If so, could you provide the instructions that have been verified on this car? Many thanks!!
  2. I would first spend some time and money reducing the cabin's ambient NOISE level below the typical ~70+ db level before I invest any money in an upscale audio system. Otherwise the only way to really appreciate a good high fidelity system is in a nice quiet garage with the windows up, the engine and HVAC blower off. Are you might have someone design a music/sound content pre-processing system, DSP, to automatically raise the system sound content that would otherwise be below 70 db up above that level. I've never thought about noise reduction but that's a really interesting idea. Can you you point me to any websites that talk about that sort of thing because I don't know anything about it. Same goes for DSP pre-processing system. Could it be hooked up inline with the factory radio? The fact that it integrates with the Navigation screen and radio display below it seems to complicate matters - at least to me. Does anyone know what types of input/output ports are available on the factory audio system?
  3. I plan to but a 2008 RX350 but Mark Levinson Audio is not available in New England. Can I upgrade the amp, speakers and add a subwoofer with aftermarket components from Crutchfield.com or similar type of place? I don’t want rear seat DVD so the $6K for the Mark Levinson audio would be overkill anyway. Even if I spend $1K-$1.5K with aftermarket components I still figure I’m way ahead of the game. Would a Lexus shop manual have details for audio? Where could I buy such a manual? Anybody have any experience upgrading audio components?
